Brian Michael Bendis talks 'Powers,' 'Secret Wars' on 'Late Night'

Writer Brian Michael Bendis appeared last night on NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he talked about Marvel's big Secret Wars announcement, how he stumbled into a job at a comic store, and consulting with Sony Pictures on The Amazing Spider-Man.

But first and foremost, he was there to promote the upcoming premiere ofPowers , the long-developing adaptation of the comic he created with Michael Avon Oeming (note how Bendis politely corrects Meyers, ensuring his collaborator receives proper credit).

"We have been in development for 14 years," Bendis said. "I now have four more children than I had when it started, and my life is completely different, but ... It just got to a place where no one in my life believed me that we had a TV show. It was like, people acting like they act when your girlfriend broke up with you and you didn't realize it: 'Oh, you think you have a show? Do ya? You think the show's happening?' And now I think, maybe tonight, some people will believe me ..."
