Brian Michael Bendis' fan-favorite Jinxworld imprint is moving from DC to Dark Horse Comics.

"I am so proud to call Dark Horse Comics home! From Dark Horse Presents all the way up to Black Hammer, Dark Horse has been at the forefront of the kind of creator-owned comics I personally adore and aspire to. This partnership has been brewing for a very long time," Bendis told THR in a written statement. "Mike Richardson, Daniel Chabon, and everyone else at Dark Horse has welcomed us with open arms and it’s very exciting to start rolling out our brand-new epics like Joy Operations and reintroduce you to some of our classic Jinxworld titles like Powers, Torso, and Jinx. Any of my friends will tell you I wished those books were published by Dark Horse back when we first made them. To the future!"

"Brian Bendis is one of the comic industry’s premier talents and we are so excited to welcome him here to Dark Horse," Dark Horse Comics President and Founder Mike Richardson added. "As Brian can confirm, I’ve been chasing him for a very long time. Not only will Brian be bringing new stories here for his many fans, but we will be re-releasing new editions of his existing work for a whole new generation of readers."

Bendis' deal with Dark Horse will include reissues and new installments of previous Jinxworld titles such as PowersPearlCover and The Murder Inc., as well as a new title called Joy Operations featuring art by Stephen Bryne. The series takes place 55 years and the future and centers on Joy, a special agent who's coerced into betraying everything she's ever believed.

"I am so happy to be working with Brian, Alisa [Bendis, Jinxworld publisher], and their roster of insanely talented co-creators on these upcoming Jinxworld stories," Dark Horse editor Daniel Chabon said. "We have some really amazing books in the works right now and I can’t wait for folks to see what we have in store from them and Dark Horse’s expanding creator-owned universe."

Jinxworld was created by Bendis as a creator-owned imprint spanning multiple genres, and it was famously included as part of his massive exclusive deal with DC in 2017. "It's an imprint that will be very different from the others at DC," Bendis told CBR ahead of DC's Jinxworld launch. "It's very different from Young Animal. That was a specific voice. Ours is going to have a specific voice but be more mainstream in a way. The artist I'm working with on that book is another person I've never worked with, and it's someone where when I told people... I'll say this: when I told Matt Fraction who was drawing this book, he went, 'Shut the f---!' [Laughter] People have been talking about Superman, but this is really exciting. I know I sound like a vague, hypey person, but that's all I can say for now."
