As the reported Breaking Bad film prepares to begin principal photography this month, the first plot details appear to have surfaced online.
According to Slashfilm, the movie will premiere on television, as opposed to receiving a theatrical release, and follow Aaron Paul's Jesse Pinkman following the events of the series finale. Creator Vince Gilligan will write the film and serve as executive producer as part of his overall deal with Sony Pictures Television, which produced the original series as well as its spinoff Better Call Saul.
The news broke Tuesday that a long-rumored Breaking Bad sequel is indeed in development, and already had selected filming locations in New Mexico to begin principal photography later this month.
Jesse was last seen in the series finale in 2013, having served as a captive meth manufacturer to a gang of neo-Nazis before killing his captor and driving off in a car into the night, emotionally overwhelmed by his reclaimed freedom.
It remains to be seen whether the upcoming film takes place immediately following the events of the finale, or features a time jump.
