'Breaking Bad' Creator Heads to 'Battle Creek'

Breaking Bad signs off the air for good in just a few days, but creator Vince Gilligan is staying close to the small screen.

Not only is the Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul officially in development, Gilligan has yet another project lined up: Battle Creek, a detective series that just received a production order from CBS for the 2014-15 season. Gilligan will team up with House creator David Shore for the drama, which centers on two detectives with radically different approaches.

Deadline describes the plot: "They must answer the question: is cynicism, guile and deception enough to clean up the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek, Michigan, in the face of a complete lack of resources; or is the exact opposite true — it takes naïveté, trust and a boatload of resources?"

Shore will serve as showrunner, while Gilligan is "interested in directing."
