WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Breach, now available in select theaters and on demand.

John Suits' Breach focuses on a parasite infecting an ark, the Hercules, that's leaving Earth with hundreds of thousands on board. With the planet overrun by nuclear war, the destination is New Earth, where three million inhabitants are already living in harmony. However, after making a hyperspace jump, a mysterious black gooey substance appears on board, turning people into mindless zombies, liquefying their insides, and using them as a hive mind.

The finale sees Clay (Bruce Willis), Chambers (Rachel Nichols) and the stowaway Noah (Cody Kearsely) trying to find a way to stop the creature from getting to their new haven. But it gets complicated when they realize the zombies can't be destroyed, leaving Cody with a Hail Mary plan.

Acid Kills The Thing

Teek, one of the engineers, admits he brought the prehistoric creature on board as he's part of a resistance that doesn't think humanity needs a second chance. However, while Cody is on janitor duty he realizes that the acid in his cleaning liquid can melt the zombies. But the horde's bearing down on them and the crew has limited numbers. The Admiral (Thomas Jane) already lured a bunch of them to him, only to suicide bomb the room, but the body parts reformed themselves into a giant meat monster a la The Thing to now start hunting the remaining humans.

Luckily, Clay used the liquid in his moonshine, which allows them to retrofit canisters to flame throwers to try to make it to the escape pods. But Noah has another issue to see to as he grabs the Admiral's daughter, Hayley, from cryostasis. He got her pregnant and desperately wants to start a new family, although he has to break the news that her dad's now gone. The job gets tougher, though, when the meat monster attacks them, slamming Chambers into the wall, killing her, and then knocking out Clay.

The Great Escape

Thankfully, Noah has become more of a soldier under Clay, and with his flame thrower he's able to fend off the beast, using the carbon dioxide from the flame suppression system to help out. In another random stroke of luck, Clay pops up on the comms link, as he survived the beast's attack, and decides he has to blow up the ship.

Clay ejects Noah and Hayley's pod, while destroying the controls for the ark, which was already going too fast at light speed. With the reactor overheating, it's blown to bits, thus stopping the parasite's army from getting to New Earth. This was their mission all along, which is why they were goading Clay and Noah into waking the Admiral. They wanted to get to the reactor room using his handprint access so they could hasten their arrival and find new food. But thanks to Clay's selfless act, that's now been averted, or so we think.

The New War Begins

When Noah and Hayley crash near a lake on New Earth, they see a giant kaiju-like monster fighting off jets. We never get a clear view but it seems to be a towering meat monster a la Godzilla. Earlier in the film, when another engineer, Lincoln, escaped in a pod, he was attacked by an infected member hidden on the vessel, so it seems they brought the infection to the new home.

To make it worse, Hayley's water breaks, sending a young infected girl they meet into a frenzy. But as she rushes them to devour the couple in the final scene, Noah makes it clear as he ignites his flame-thrower that he will "burn them all" to protect his family.

Directed by John Suits from a screenplay by Edward Drake and Corey Large, Breach stars Cody Kearsley, Bruce Willis, Rachel Nichols and Thomas Jane. The film is now available in select theaters and on demand.
