Death and Heathers go hand in hand, with BuzzFeed reporting that a planned Bravo series based on the 1988 dark comedy is pushing up daisies.

The cable channel announced in September that it was developing a television series that finds Veronica (played in the film by Winona Ryder) returning to her hometown with a teenage daughter who has to deal with a group of jerky girls in high school called the Ashleys.

This marks the second time the project, created by The Big C's Jenny Bicks, has failed to go to series: It was sold to Fox four years ago, but never fully developed.

Bravo didn't comment on Heathers getting the ax, but the network hasn't mentioned it while discussing the upcoming slate of scripted programs.
