After debuting its Brainiac, Syfy's Krypton has unveiled a behind-the-scenes look at the DC Comics villain's iconic ship.

While most of the attention has been placed on actor Blake Ritson's depiction of the character, the promo also provides a glimpse of Brainiac's skull-shaped space ship. Concept art appears in the video starting at the 0:33 mark.

The skull-shaped ship has been a signature element of the classic Superman villain since the early 1980s, when the character was reintroduced as a robot. Syfy seems to be pulling extensively from Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's 2008 run on DC's Action Comics that brought back the one true Brainiac as an organic villain.

Given that the show is set during the lifetime of Superman's Kryptonian grandfather Seg-El, it is likely that Season 1 will deal with Brainiac's infamous abduction of the city of Kandor.

Debuting March 21 on Syfy, Krypton was developed by David S. Goyer and Damian Kindler and stars Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El, Georgina Campbell as Lyta Zod, Elliot Cowan as Daron-Vex, Ann Ogbomo as AluraZod, Rasmus Hardiker as Kem, Wallis Day as Nyssa-Vex, Aaron Pierre as Dev-Em and Ian McElhinney as Val-El.
