Boruto's Generation of ninja is quite capable, with several geniuses having emerged from every village. The likes of Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, and Mitsuki are all exceptional shinobi who have inherited the talents of their parents.

Similarly, most of the other characters are quite strong and have inherited the best of their parents as well, however, there are a few characters in the Boruto story who, while being decent ninja, have failed to live up to the expectations that the fans had for them. These characters are weak when compared to the rest and certainly need to train harder.

10 Yurui Is A Genin From Kumogakure Who Lacks Skill

Boruto fights Yurui

Yurui is a Genin who made his debut during the Chunin Exams arc of the story. His appearance made it quite easy to tell that he was a fan of the infamous Killer Bee, the Jinchuriki of the Eight-Tails. Yurui possesses decent skill with his bubble gum ninjutsu which gave even Boruto Uzumaki quite some trouble in the Chunin Exams. What's more, his control over lightning release was seen to be decent enough to channel it through his swords. However, he lacked the endurance to truly stand a chance against any strong ninja, making him weak.

9 Chocho Akimichi Lacks The Motivation To Train Harder

Boruto Chocho Akimichi

Chocho is the daughter of Choji and Karui and, as expected, she's inherited her parents' skills to a great degree. Chocho is known to be extremely skilled in all the Hiden techniques of the Akimichi clan. Even the renowned Butterfly form isn't too hard for her to attain. However, Chocho lacks the desire to grow her powers further. She doesn't enjoy training and hardly ever puts much effort into the missions that she goes on, making her weaker compared to the rest.

8 Araya Is The Weakest Member Of Team Shinki So Far

Boruto puppet user Araya

Just like Yodo, Araya made his debut during the Chunin Exams arc. He was shown to be quite skilled in the art of puppetry, and his skills enabled him to reach the last round of the exams. Despite that, however, Araya was rather weak as he couldn't last long in a fight against Sarada Uchiha. His puppetry skills proved to be insufficient in taking on the mighty Uchiha, and, while he did defeat Inojin, he has yet to show that he's truly capable of taking on the elites of his generation.

7 Yodo Has Talent But Has Yet To Show Her True Capabilities

Yodo In Boruto

Yodo is one of the most impressive next-generation ninja who has appeared in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. She made her debut in the Chunin Exams arc and was considered to be the hope of the village, which says a lot about her capabilities.

In her fight against Shikadai, however, Yodo was unable to gain a victory despite the Nara having far less strength compared to her. Yodo has room to develop further, and in the future, she could surprise all the fans.

6 Inojin Yamanaka Is An Average Shinobi When Compared To The Others

Inojin Yamanaka in Boruto.

Inojin is the son of Ino Yamanaka and Sai and just like Chocho, he's inherited the powers of his parents. Like his mother before him, Inojin seems to have a decent grasp of the special techniques of the Yamanaka clan. However, he doesn't make much use of them in battle. He relies on his ink-based ninjutsu which he learned from his father and, although dangerous, it isn't all that special compared to the jutsu that the other shinobi from his generation use. Inojin certainly needs to train harder to catch up to the rest.

5 Tarui's Abilities Remain A Mystery

Sarada vs Tarui Boruto

Tarui is a ninja from the Kumogakure, and she was deemed strong enough to enter the Chunin Exams. Although her appearance made her look powerful, she was actually nothing too special. Tarui's skill in battle was lacking as was seen when she took on Sarada Uchiha in battle and lost within a matter of seconds. Tarui's field of expertise lies in close-range combat. However, Sarada was easily able to overpower her and overshadow her where she shone the most.

4 Toroi Remains An Underwhelming Shinobi From Kumogakure

Toroi Before The Chunin Exams

Kumogakure's Toroi appeared during the Chunin Exams, and he impressively made his way to the final round of the exams. Surprisingly, however, Toroi wasn't able to prove himself on the biggest of stages.

His match against Mitsuki ended rather quickly despite the latter holding back his real power from him. Toroi's usage of Shuriken, immense strength, and even lightning release were useless against Mitsuki, proving that he definitely needs more time on the training field.

3 Wasabi Izuno Hasn't Shown Anything Special Just Yet

Hanabi Team

Wasabi is an anime-only character in Boruto, and she is a member of Hanabi Hyuga's Team 15. Being an anime-only character, it goes without saying that she isn't as focused on as some of the others who also appear in the manga. As such, Wasabi barely appears in the story. Although her ninjutsu is quite unique, it can be dealt with rather easily. Wasabi possesses decent potential, but she has not proven herself to be anything above the ordinary just yet.

2 Namida Is The Weakest Member Of Her Team At The Moment

Namida Using Her Powers In Boruto

Like Wasabi, Namida is also a member of Team 15 and trains under Hanabi Hyuga. She's known to be a weak-hearted person who finds it quite hard to gather courage. However, in times of need, she manages to do so. Namida isn't all that powerful, and her ability to knock out others with high-pitched sound is detrimental to both friend and foe. It is also very taxing on her chakra reserves, which makes her ability a double-edged sword.

1 Denki Kaminarimon Is Not Fit To Fight On The Battlefield

Denki Kaminarimon Boruto Naruto Anime Battle Action

Denki Kaminarimon of Team 5 is one of the weakest characters in the entire Boruto series, if not the weakest. Although Denki is very smart and knows his way around technology like no other character, he isn't suited to combat at all. His skills with ninjutsu are very limited, and he can barely hold his own against any of the strong ninja in the story. It goes without saying that Denki needs to put in more effort if he is to stand next to Boruto and the other members of his generation.
