Boruto has a lot of pressure on his shoulders as he's the son of the strongest ninja in the world. He is a talented ninja and it will be worth seeing how he develops as the series continues forward. There's plenty of things that even devoted fans have missed about Boruto.

10 Momoshiki's Vessel

Boruto and Momoshiki

Momoshiki Otsutsuki made his appearance during the Chunin Exams arc. He invaded the Hidden Leaf in order to take the chakra fruit that Kaguya was harvesting, however, he was shocked to find no fruit. Momoshiki altered his plan and decided to steal the chakra of the tailed beasts.

He took away Naruto to another dimension to extract his chakra without any interference. However, Sasuke, Boruto and the rest of the Kage came to Naruto's rescue. Momoshiki lost the fight with Boruto landing the final hit. The Otsutsuki gave Boruto the Karma and turned him into a vessel.

9 Can Open Portals

Karma is a very strong ability to have and if used properly, it can prove to be a valuable addition to one's arsenal. Boruto received the Karma after killing Momoshiki. While activated, Boruto's right side resembles Momoshiki Otsutsuki.

With help from Kawaki, Boruto was able to open a portal with his Karma. Boruto hasn't gained full control over his Karma, but there is still time left for him to gain more control. In the future, he might be to open a portal all on his own.

8 Was Supposed To Have Byakugan

Boruto is half Hyuga, which means he had the potential to awaken the Byakugan, however, he ended up with a completely new dojutsu. Kishimoto wanted to give Boruto the Byakugan as well. However, he forgot to include it before chapter 700 was released.

This is the only reason that Boruto does not have the Byakugan as his dojutsu. When Momoshiki takes over the body of Boruto, a Byakugan does appear in his right eye, but since the transformation is temporary it reverts to being a normal eye afterward.

7 Official Member of Two Different Clans

Not many people have a more precious heritage than Boruto Uzumaki. He is the son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga. As Naruto is an Uzumaki, Boruto too is a member of the Uzumaki Clan.

However, Boruto has a certain privilege that most ninjas don't have. Despite being born into the Uzumaki Clan, he is also officially recognized as a member of the Hyuga Clan, making him the only known member without a Byakugan.

6 Tribute To Neji

Boruto and Neji in Boruto.

Naruto owes a lot to Neji Hyuga, the latter was sacrificed for the sake of Naruto's romance. Neji Hyuga was a prodigy and he was destined to reach the very top, but surprisingly Kishimoto decided to kill off Neji to promote the relationship of Hinata and Naruto.

It is plausible to assume that by naming his son, Boruto, Naruto paid respect to his fallen friend. The name "Boruto" is the Japanese pronunciation of the word "bolt." It is a reference to Neji's name, which means "screw."

5 Only Known Jōgan User

Boruto's Jogan.

As mentioned earlier, Boruto was supposed to have the Byakugan as his dojutsu, however, he ended up with the Jōgan instead. The Jōgan is an extremely rare dojutsu which is found within the Otsutsuki Clan.

The eye allows its user to see the target's chakra pathway and locate the most key point in the system. The Jōgan can also see the invisible barriers that connect dimensions. There is a lot that still is unknown about this dojutsu, but hopefully, that will change in the future.

4 A Prodigy

Unlike his father who was considered a fool during his Academy years, Boruto is considered a top talent. He is hailed as a prodigy of the Uzumaki Clan. Boruto's skill has been acknowledged by everyone around him.

It is plausible to say that Boruto is headed straight to the top. He is apt when it comes to chakra control, which allows him to make one hand seals. Only a handful of ninjas have accomplished this feature of being able to weave hand seals with just one hand. Also, Boruto has mastery over the Shadow Clone jutsu.

3 User of Unique Rasengan

At such a young age, Boruto has already mastered using the Rasengan. After a few training sessions with his teacher, Konohamaru, Boruto was able to use the Rasengan.

While trying to use the Rasengan, Boruto unknowingly applied Lightning Release to it, which made it disappear. In the novel, Boruto applied the Wind Release instead. It is an extraordinary feat considering that many great shinobi could not manage to achieve it during their lives.

2 Can Use Three Nature Releases

Boruto is still young and he's got a lot of time to work on his skills. Currently, Boruto is capable of using three nature releases out of five, which is really impressive for someone of his age.

Boruto can use Lightning Release, Wind Release and Water Release. His affinity is towards Lightning Release, and as stated earlier, he applies it to his Rasengan as well.

1 Idiolizes Sasuke Instead of Naruto

Boruto and Sasuke

This might come as a shock to many fans, but Naruto is not Boruto's ideal ninja. He considers Sasuke cooler than his father, which is really surprising. Boruto aspires to become like Sasuke and protect the village from the shadows.

Sasuke also trained him for a while and in the future, we might get another training arc focused around them.
