Masaya Honda, the scriptwriter for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, shared his thoughts on the emotional conclusion to Part 1 of the series.On Twitter, Honda thanked all the Naruto fans who have kept up with Boruto since it premiered in 2017. "Thank you for watching Boruto Part 1," Honda wrote. "Today, the ending song 'See you again' touched my heart even more. I would like to quote a line from the lyrics because it fits my feelings right now. If you want to say goodbye, I'll add 'see you again.' See you someday!" The ending theme song Honda is referring to is "Mata Ne" by Humbreaders, which can be translated to "see you later" or "see you again."
In response to Honda's emotional post, Boruto fans are thanking the anime writer for his contribution to the series. "Thank you, Honda-sensei," one fan wrote. "This was an amazing finale, and it was great to see how well-produced, animated and written this episode was. I'm still in shock. Thank you, again." Another fan wrote, "It was perfect Mr Honda!! We are really grateful for all your efforts and the entire staff these last 6 years. I was also very emotional by the end, it’s been a great friend to us every week!! Please enjoy a nice break and we will see for Part 2 in the future! Thank you!!!!"
Boruto and the Return of Naruto
For six years, Honda was part of the writing staff for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. His first credited episode was Episode 10, "The Ghost Incident: The Investigation Begins!" which aired on Dec. 8, 2018. While Honda has written multiple episodes of Boruto since, the final story arc of the series, the Code's Assault Arc, was primarily written by him. The series finale of Boruto Part 1 is Episode 293, "Farewell."
At the beginning of March, it was reported the Boruto anime would go on an indefinite hiatus in April, after the airing of Episode 293. Currently, there is no news when Part 2 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations will air. Four brand-new episodes of the original Naruto anime, however, will air in September as a celebration of the series' 20th anniversary. Meanwhile, the Boruto manga is currently ongoing.
