Kara is an organization consisting of some of the most powerful characters in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations series. As of now, their goals are not known, but being a criminal group, they're likely to have ill intentions for the peace that Naruto Uzumaki fought for in the Ninja War.

Being a villainous organization, Kara draws lots of comparisons to the fan-favorite Akatsuki from Naruto. In fact, fans have already started drawing comparisons between the two. Here are 5 reasons why Kara is better than the Akatsuki and 5 why Akatsuki still reigns supreme as the best group in the entire series.

10 Better: Stronger Characters

Boruto Kara

The Kara organization consists of some of the most powerful characters to ever exist in the world of Naruto. The organization consists of 'Outers', who are the weaker members and serve the purpose of pawns, and the 'Inners', who are the main members.

The Inner members, in particular, are extremely powerful. Delta, one of its members, was able to put up a decent fight against Naruto Uzumaki recently, which is something no member of Akatsuki can even hope of doing right now. It is undeniable that the members of Kara are far superior when it comes to strength alone.

9 Worse: Too Similar to Akatsuki

Unfortunately, Kara appears to be way too similar to Akatsuki, at least for now. Their sudden appearance in the Boruto manga makes them look like an Akatsuki rip-off with stronger members.

Undoubtedly, a lot of fans feel this way because Kara hasn't been fully explored as of yet, but their first impression, while decent, did give fans the feeling that they're just another Akatsuki. Hopefully, this won't be the case for long as their motives get explained in the future of the series.

8 Better: A Common Leader

Kara is led by the strongest known person in the Boruto series who goes by the name of Jigen. In truth, Jigen serves as the vessel of Isshiki Otsutsuki just as Boruto serves as Momoshiki Otsutsuki's vessel.

While the Akatsuki was a great villainous organization, they had lots of leaders some of which were often revealed out of nowhere for the sake of the shock factor. The organization was first created by Yahiko, then led by Nagato, followed by Obito, and ultimately Shin Uchiha. While interesting at first, it made the organization lose its importance as the story moved forward.

7 Worse: Fewer Members

Kara, as explained earlier, consists of Inners and Outers. While the Outers are a known part of a group, they're simply pawns for them to use for their own good. The main members of the Kara are the Inners, who are surprisingly lacking in number.

With one of them having been nearly killed already, it makes one wonder how long they can last in the series. With more characters comes more diversity, and that's certainly something that Kara seems to be lacking at the moment. It is possible for more members to join this group in the future, which is something that we certainly do hope for.

6 Better: More Active

Kara has been a part of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations series right from its beginning. Once the Momoshiki arc concluded, shortly afterward, we were introduced to its members. Right since then, the organization has played an active role in the story and made it what it is today.

The Akatsuki was suddenly introduced midway through the Naruto series, and while that's not necessarily bad, the fact that they were featured for an extremely short amount of time certainly is. Midway through Naruto Shippuden, the Akatsuki essentially lost all its purpose.

5 Worse: Lack of Diversity

Among many things that Kara members seem to be lacking at the moment is diversity. The organization, while extremely powerful, has a handful of members who aren't all too different from each other. In fact, their nuances are extremely hard to pick as a result of how they've been portrayed so far.

With the Akatsuki, each member had a select way of thinking and nature which made them unique. There's certainly a chance that as Kara is further explored, its members will be fleshed out more, which is something we hope happens.

4 Better: Bigger Threat

The threat that Kara poses to the world of shinobi is, unarguably, much bigger than that of the Akatsuki. Although the Akatsuki were primarily responsible for starting the Fourth Great Ninja War and bringing the world to utter destruction, Kara is simply much more dangerous.

Each member of this organization possesses strength that's comparable to Naruto and Sasuke, at least when they're suppressed. What's more, their leader, Jigen, was strong enough to fight both Naruto and Sasuke head-on and emerge victorious without even receiving a single scratch. Talk about being overpowered!

3 Worse: Poor Teamwork

The Akatsuki usually functioned in pairs that usually possessed a nice balance. For instance, Deidara and Sasori made a team obsessed with art, Kakuzu and Hidan were the immortal duo, and Pain and Konan posed as the God and his Angel respectively. These teams certainly had a decent level of resonance with each other, which is why they worked together so well.

Kara doesn't seem to possess any such team pairs. All of its members act on their own, and what's more, their motives are unknown as well. Kashin Koji has already killed one of his own members which doesn't bode too well for the organization and its future.

2 Better: More Potential

With the way that Ukyo Kodachi has written Kara, it's easy to see that there's a lot of potential there. The organization could easily end up being better than Akatsuki, the goals of which fizzled out halfway through the series with the constant change in leaders.

Kara seems to be a solid organization for now, and it goes without saying that the fans would love to see them not get wasted like the Akatsuki was ultimately in the Naruto series. Thankfully, nothing of sorts has happened to date in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

1 Worse: Unclear Motives

Another reason why Kara doesn't appear to be as interesting as the Akatsuki is because of their motives being unknown for now. From what we've gathered so far, Kara want Kawaki to be able to transfer the power of Isshiki Otsutsuki to him. However, what exactly that will accomplish isn't known.

This will, more likely than not, change in the future of the series where we'll get to dive deeper into the organization's goals and ideals though. For now, the lack of a solid reason behind their actions definitely makes them less appealing when compared to Naruto's Akatsuki.
