Boruto Uzumaki is the son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga and the protagonist of Naruto's sequel, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Being the son of two of the most incredible ninja to ever live, Boruto is known to be quite a prodigy, unlike his father.

Despite that, he's certainly inherited more than just a few things from Naruto, as noted by several other characters throughout the series. He also shares quite a few similarities with his mother, Hinata Hyuga, as well.

10 Boruto Is A User Of Gentle Fist

Boruto has been trained in the ways of the Hyuga Taijutsu since a young age, and his skills with Gentle Fist are known to be quite decent. Although he doesn't have the ability to hit the tenketsu of the user without tapping into the powers of his Dojutsu, Boruto's skill with its usage is certainly good enough to combat difficult foes. Hinata herself was a master of Gentle Fist and, by the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War, her skill with this art was refined to the level of a Jonin, if not higher.

9 Boruto Possesses A Dojutsu Like Hinata

Jougan Boruto

While Boruto Uzumaki might not have inherited the power of the Byakugan from his mother like Himawari did, he does have a completely different Dojutsu instead. As seen on numerous occasions in the anime, Boruto is a user of the Jougan, which is said to be an Otsutsuki Dojutsu. Interestingly, the Jougan works similar to the Byakugan in some ways as it can see the chakra system and hence, allow the user to hit the tenketsu if they want to.

8 Boruto Is Connected To The Otsutsuki Clan

Just as Naruto Uzumaki received the power of Hagoromo Otsutsuki in the Fourth Great Ninja War, Hinata Hyuga received some chakra from Hamura Otsutsuki during the events of The Last: Naruto the Movie. This was largely because of the Hyuga clan being connected to Hamura Otsutsuki. Similar to Hinata, Boruto seems to have inherited the power of the Otsutsuki, as mentioned by Momoshiki moments before he died, and branded him with the power known as Karma.

7 Boruto Is A User Of Lightning Release

Boruto is a user of Lightning Release and, interestingly enough, this nature transformation is his affinity as well, meaning Lightning Release techniques come more naturally to him.

Over the years, Boruto has shown the ability to be able to imbue his weapons with lightning and even use advanced techniques such as Thunderclap Arrow. Just like him, Hinata Hyuga is a user of Lightning Release as well, which could be where he gets his chakra affinity from. It is likely that Hinata's chakra affinity is Lightning Release as well.

6 Boruto Can Use More Than One Nature Type

Boruto Uzumaki is known to have the reputation of a genius ninja and thus, being able to use more than one nature type is not a surprise, given how skilled he is even as a Genin. Currently, he can use Lightning Release, Water Release, and Wind Release which is extremely impressive. Hinata Hyuga, on the other hand, is a user of more than one nature type as well. She's known to be a user of Lightning Release and Fire Release although she's barely ever shown usage of either nature type. While Naruto is a user of all the nature transformations, he only managed to do so after gaining the Six Paths Powers.

5 Boruto Is Highly Skilled With Jutsu

When it comes to Jutsu, Boruto has already mastered several techniques. What's more, he's also developed his own jutsu as well, with the Vanishing Rasengan and the High Compression Rasengan being prime examples. The same goes for his mother, Hinata Hyuga, who's mastered all of the Hyuga taijutsu arts. Hinata is also the only known user of the Gentle Step Twin Lion Fist, which is an incredibly powerful technique that drains the target of their chakra.

4 Boruto Acts Mature For His Age

Boruto was a brat at the beginning of the story. However, he's come a long way since then. After the events of the Otsutsuki Invasion arc, he's matured quite a bit and understands the feelings of others better.

This is something that he shares in common with his mother, Hinata Hyuga, as she's known to be quite understanding as well. Hinata might be shy, but her ability to read the situation and act accordingly is second to none.

3 Boruto Cares Deeply About Those He Loves

Boruto's caring nature is something that he has in common with both his mother and his father. He's grown up to a figure who prioritizes his friends and family over everything else. In the Mitsuki arc, Boruto went to extremes to make sure he retrieved his friend, who he knew very little about at the time. Similarly, Hinata is always ready to sacrifice herself for those she loves as seen when she jumped to defend Naruto from Pain knowing she stood no chance, and later, when she gave herself up to save her sister, Hanabi, in The Last: Naruto the Movie.

2 Boruto Never Backs Down From A Challenge

Boruto Uzumaki is very much like his parents when it comes to his ninja way. Although he claims to not have thought about his ninja way, when it truly counts, Boruto always steps up without backing down, as seen when he was able to hit Momoshiki Otsutsuki with his Rasengan and free the Kage. Both Hinata and Naruto share the same ninja way, which is to never back down on their word. Being their son, Boruto Uzumaki is doing well to follow in their footsteps.

1 Boruto Looks Up To Someone

Sasuke and Boruto Uzumaki

When in need of courage and determination, both Boruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga have people to look up to. Hinata relies on Naruto Uzumaki, who saved her from bullies when she was a kid, and she's continued to do so ever since. Meanwhile, Boruto relies on his master, Sasuke Uchiha, who gave him hope and courage when Naruto wouldn't acknowledge him. Sasuke took him in as his pupil and trained him in the ways of shinobi arts.
