Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is the continuation of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto. The new series focuses on the next generation of ninjas who live in a completely new era.
Boruto has a lot of characters and there are obviously going to be some who get more screen time than the others. This is due to one reason or another. In this post, we will be discussing five heroes who have been used way too much and five who remain underused.
10 OVERUSED: BORUTO UZUMAKI
Boruto Uzumaki is the son of Naruto and Hinata. Boruto has labeled as a prodigy by his teachers. He is the main protagonist of the series and it is no wonder that he receives the most attention out of all the characters. Boruto is a good character and there is no doubt that the fans love him. He is going to be the focal point for the series because it is his series after all.
9 UNDERUSED: KAWAKI
Kawaki is one of the newly introduced characters in the series. He is an enigma and there is still a lot that the fans want to know about him. Kawaki was trained ruthlessly by Jigen. He had a difficult time as a kid, but after meeting Naruto his life has elated. He definitely needs more screentime and in the future, there needs to be an arc where he should be the focus of attention.
8 OVERUSED: SARADA UCHIHA
Sarada is the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura. She is a part of the new Team 7. Sarada has dreams of becoming the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf, and if that happens, she will be the first Uchiha to become the Hokage.
Sarada has a crucial role to play in the series and she will undoubtedly remain one of the main characters till the end.
7 UNDERUSED: KONOHAMARU SARUTOBI
Konohamaru Sarutobi is the grandson of Hiruzen Sarutobi. He has been appointed the jonin leader of the new Team 7. Konohamaru has come a long way and he has got the potential to go even further, however, he has hit a roadblock. Despite being a jonin, Konohamaru has been rescued several times already by his students, which is quite surprising. If used properly, Konohamaru can become an absolute gem of a character.
6 OVERUSED: MITSUKI
Mitsuki is the child of Orochimaru. He was created by Orochimaru and it took several attempts before the experiment was a success. Mitsuki left Orochimaru's lab in order to find his "sun." According to Orochimaru, Mitsuki has got the potential to surpass the Legendary Sannin. Mitsuki has already proven his skill in the Chunin Exams, where he was able to beat Shinki.
5 UNDERUSED: METAL LEE
Metal Lee has been out of the spotlight for a very long time. The last Metal Lee was involved properly was during the Nue arc. Metal Lee is considered a prodigy of the Lee clan and it will be a real waste if he is not used properly by Ikemoto.
There is still quite a lot that the fans don't know about Metal. He should definitely be used more and if possible he should get one or two arcs where he is at the center of attention.
4 OVERUSED: NARUTO UZUMAKI
Naruto is the current Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. He achieved his life-long dream of becoming the Hokage towards the end of Naruto Shippuden. Naruto is a fan favorite without a doubt and giving him a lot of screentime is obviously good for the series especially since the anime is not doing well. Naruto will keep receiving attention, but there are several characters who need more screentime.
3 UNDERUSED: IWABEE YUINO
Iwabee's decline has been a tragic one. During the first few episodes, he was given the utmost attention but all of that has died down. Iwabee has barely been involved in the series since then and it will only get worse from here on out as the anime has recently started to adapt content from the manga. Iwabee still has got promise as a character and it would be really awesome if the fans got to see him in the thick of the action.
2 OVERUSED: SASUKE UCHIHA
Sasuke Uchiha is another legend from Naruto. He is considered the only ninja who can match Naruto in a fight. For a long time, Sasuke was away on missions, but ever since he got back from his mission he has been involved in almost every arc in one way or the other. Like Naruto, Sasuke is a fan favorite and his involvement is important to keep the fans hooked to the series.
1 UNDERUSED: SHINKI
The final character on the list is Shinki. He is the adopted son of Gaara. Shinki resembles his father in many ways. Shinki possesses the Magnet Release with which he controls the iron sand. The iron sand was also used by the Third Kazekage, who was said to be the strongest Kazekage in the history of the Hidden Sand. Shinki was the firm favorite to win in the final round of the Chunin Exams, however, he fell short. Shinki still has a lot to learn and he should be at the epicenter in the future arcs.
