Naruto has many memorable characters, especially the titular Naruto and the other members of Team 7. These characters have become famous due to their accomplishments, whether they were good or bad. This fame was especially true for Naruto, who became the Seventh Hokage. Boruto focuses on the next generation of ninjas and introduces a whole new cast of characters to love and hate.

Boruto's new and younger characters are also earning their own fame. However, some of these characters haven't earned their popularity.

10 Kiri's Lie Threatened Team 7 & Her Village

Konohamaru saves Kiri in Boruto

When Boruto and his team, along with Konohamaru, went on their first mission, they were asked to help an endangered village. However, it turned out that the leader of the village, Kiri, was hiding the fact that the robberies were actually threats from an enemy who wanted to own the bridge into the village. This lie put the ninjas and her village in danger — no one was prepared for the deed to get stolen. Even though the leader was trusted, she betrayed her village by keeping the secret and endangering them.

9 Sarada's Jutsu Was Not Perfect

Sarada Uchiha Uses Genjutsu Sharingan

As Boruto and Sarada began their classes, it became obvious that Sarada was a well-trained and focused ninja. However, even though she was decent with her Jutsu, it didn't mean that Sarada was a good ninja.

Sarada was unable to recognize Boruto's abilities. She even believed that he would be the reason for the team's failures when she was teamed up with him and Mitsuki, who was the child of Orochimaru. Even though Sarada was well-trained for her age, she still needed to grow as a ninja.

8 Naruto Lied To Sarada About His Grades

Even though Naruto earned his job as the Hokage, he ignored the fact that he wasn't perfect — specifically, when he was a Genin. When Naruto took Sarada and Cho Cho to see traveling Sasuke, he mentioned that he was an amazing student. This statement was a lie because Naruto was actually a terrible student. This li led Sarada to believe that she needed to be a perfect Genin to get the title of Hokage.

7 Boruto's Connection To Naruto Shouldn't Dictate His Reputation

Boruto was well-known for something that he didn't do — he was known as the Seventh Hokage's child. However, Boruto didn't want to be connected to this fame. Boruto was a smart student and a decently well-rounded ninja despite his youth and his flaws. He can even do his father's Shadow Clone Jutsu. Boruto wanted to be known for his abilities rather than for his relation to the Seventh Hokage.

6 Sumire Tried To Murder The Villagers

Sumire

Sumire was the student representative of Boruto's class. Even though all of the students trusted her, Sumire was actually planning on attacking Hidden Leaf Village — including her classmates and their families. Because of her deceased father's plan, Sumire decided to call in a beast after stealing Chakra from several ninjas. This plan had the potential of completely annihilating Hidden Leaf Village. Sumire wanted revenge for her father even though he had been a village enemy.

5 Shizuma Saved Kagura & Then Mislead Him

Boruto Kagura vs Shizuma

While the students were visiting the Village Hidden in the Mist, Boruto befriended a swordsman, Kagura. Kagura had sparred with another student and almost sliced him. Their teacher had stopped the swordsman from murdering his classmate.

Kagura felt that he was indebted to his teacher. However, the sensei was not worthy of Kagura's respect because he had begun to use that incident to control the swordsman. Eventually, the teacher even convinced Kagura to attack the leader that he was serving.

4 Kagemasa Tried To Kill Children

In Boruto, technology had advanced to the point of creating movies. Boruto and other young ninjas looked up to Kagemasa, a ninja movie star. Even though children looked up to him, the celebrity had a secret problem. Due to his weight, Kagemasa had lost his job as the hero of the movies. The former celebrity became so upset that a being was able to take control of him and use his anger to attack two children — Boruto and Sarada.

3 Mirai & Her Team Lost To Team 7

When Boruto and Sarada decided to complain about their team-up, they approached the Seventh Hokage about getting new teammates. In order to make their request, the new Genin had to get to the supposedly well-guarded Naruto. Team 7 (and Mitsuki who decided to help) had to fight through several ninja guards. The guards should have been able to protect the Seventh Hokage, but the three young Genin easily defeated them. They proceeded forward to Naruto to make their request.

2 Shin Abused His Clones

Naruto, Sarada, and Cho Cho fought a group of young warriors that all seemed to have the Uchiha's Sharingan. The warriors turned out to be a group of clones led by Shin. Shin commanded the clones while he acted like he was their father.

Shin also used the clones and killed them to save his own life. After fighting with Naruto and his group, the clones revolted against their leader.

1 Shino Couldn't Get Respect From His Students

Shino was the teacher of Boruto's classes. Shino was nice and considerate, but he had a hard time being a good teacher. The students — especially Boruto — would get uninterested and ignore him while he was teaching. This bothered Shino so much that he got caught up in Sumire's plot to hurt the village. Shino ended up attacking Boruto and his friends. Despite his friendliness, Shino needed to almost murder his students in order to get their respect and attention.
