Boruto: Naruto Next Generations sees the Seventh Hokage's son, Boruto Uzumaki, take the stage along with other shinobi of his generation. The story is set in a peaceful era, but the need for ninja remains great as ever.
With threats looming over the world, Boruto Uzumaki and his friends hone their skills to their utmost best in order to face them. While the likes of Boruto have already received a decent number of power-ups, there are characters who haven't been focused on as much and are, thus, desperately in need of one.
10 Mitsuki Needs A New Power Other Than Sage Mode
A synthetic human and the progeny of Orochimaru, Mitsuki is a powerful ninja who is among the strongest Konohagakure has. When using Sage Mode, his powers surpass even those of some jonin, which just goes to show how skilled he truly is.
However, Mitsuki is only allowed to use this power in extreme situations and has only tapped into its full power on rare occasions thus far. To make up for it, he needs a power-up that allows him to bring out his true strength without having to depend on the extremity of the situation.
9 Sarada Uchiha Has Already Mastered The Sharingan, And She's Ready For More
Sarada is a member of Konohagakure's Uchiha clan and possesses the power of the Sharingan. Thanks to all the fighting that she's done, her eyes have fully matured and possess three tomoe now. There's only so much that a Sharingan can do, though, and in order to combat future threats, Sarada needs greater power. What's more, Boruto Uzumaki already has the Karma at his disposal and Sarada desperately needs something to keep up with him.
8 Kawaki Has Lost The Karma After Isshiki's Death
Kawaki is the adoptive son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga. Brought to the village by Team 7, Kawaki was initially deemed to be a threat but has since become a citizen of Konohagakure. Although he once possessed great power due to having the Karma, losing it means that he's been weakened. According to Amado, his Karma can be reconstructed, but Kawaki remains hesitant on the idea. Nonetheless, he certainly deserves a power-up.
7 Shikadai Needs More Than Just His Wits To Stay Relevant
Shikamaru and Temari's son Shikadai Nara is an extremely intelligent character, just like his father. Even among the members of the Nara clan, he's said to be exceptional. Shikadai often comes up with most strategies when his group is on a mission and remains to be the only member of Boruto's generation to have been made a chunin.
Despite that, Shikadai needs more than just intelligence to compete with the likes of Boruto and Kawaki and thus, he is in need of a power-up as well.
6 Iwabee Yuino Hasn't Received Enough Attention In The Story
Iwabee was introduced in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations as a character strong enough to rival and even overwhelm the likes of Boruto Uzumaki in a fight. His skills with jutsu, especially Earth Release, are said to be exceptional, but he hasn't been featured in the story much as of late. Being Boruto's rival, Kawaki needs more screentime and, more importantly, a new power-up to show that he hasn't fallen behind.
5 Chocho Needs To Master Her True Akimichi Power
Chocho is a member of Konohagakure's Akimichi clan, meaning she's blessed with their hiden ability as well. Of her teammates, she possesses the most strength, just as Shikadai has the most intelligence. Sadly, she hardly ever makes use of the skills that she's been gifted and is often used in the story for comedic relief. Chocho possesses great potential as a fighter and could very well go into battle alongside Sarada, provided she receives a great power-up.
4 Hanabi Hyuga Needs To Be Ready For Any Incoming Threat
The heiress of the Hyuga clan, Hanabi is a jonin of Konohagakure known to possess tremendous control over her Byakugan. Even as a child, her skills with the eye were compared to those of Neji, which is quite a testament to her ability.
Despite that, Hanabi needs to surpass her limits if she's to help fight the threat of Code and other Kara members. As one of the strongest jonin of the village, she deserves a significant power-up to protect her students from harm.
3 Konohamaru Sarutobi Has Been Underwhelming So Far
Konohamaru is the leader of Team 7 and plays the same role that Kakashi Hatake did in Naruto, essentially. However, unlike Kakashi, Konohamaru remains an underwhelming leader. The story hardly ever focuses on him and most of his fights end in his defeat. Being a member of the Sarutobi clan, Konohamaru is certainly capable of much more and thus, needs a big power-up, such as the Sage Mode.
2 Sasuke Uchiha Lost His Rinnegan Against Momoshiki Otsutsuki
Shortly after the fight against Isshiki Otsutsuki, Momoshiki took over Boruto's body and stabbed through Sasuke's Rinnegan, completely destroying it in the process. This makes the Uchiha much weaker now, with the threat of Code looming over the village. What's more, there are likely other Otsutsuki clan members targeting the earth and Sasuke needs to be prepared to face them. Undoubtedly, Sasuke is in need of a major power-up.
1 Naruto Uzumaki Lost Kurama To Isshiki Otsutsuki
To defeat Isshiki Otsutsuki, Naruto tapped into the power of the Baryon Mode which used his and Kurama's chakra as raw materials to generate a greater power. This made him much stronger than Isshiki for a while — the price to pay for this power was Kurama's life.
Now, Naruto is weakened considerably and needs a new power-up so he can fight for his village to the best of his ability. Although Naruto does have Sage Mode up his sleeve, that certainly isn't enough to make a difference against the Otsutsuki clan members or the likes of Code and Ada.
