The following contains spoilers for Chapter 75 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, "The Domain of Gods," by Masashi Kishimoto, Mikio Ikemoto, Mari Morimoto and Snir Aharon, now available in English from Viz Media.

Fans of the Naruto franchise have become well-acquainted with ninjutsu over the years. This involves using chakra, with shinobi able to pull off science-defying moves. Basically, they can manipulate matter and energy -- wind, air, sea, fire and land -- to become more powerful in battle. These moves stand in stark contrast to genjutsu (manipulating people's minds) or taijutsu (hand-to-hand combat), which form the holy trifecta of the foundation that Boruto's also been built on.

However, Chapter 75 of the Boruto manga has vastly changed the fundamentals and principles of the entire lore, thanks to Amado revealing key secrets. He spills the tea on why he worked for Isshiki Ōtsutsuki in the first place, how he's linked Kawaki to his daughter's clone, and lastly, the Kara defector drops a bomb that divulges the full truth on ninjutsu.

Shibai Ōtsutsuki is the new threat in Boruto

Amado sheds light on the tale of Shibai, the ultimate Ōtsutsuki. Over several millennia, Shibai kept resurrecting himself using the Karma mark that Amado and Isshiki adopted, eating many Chakra Fruits and draining a ton of worlds. He evolved into godhood, gaining abilities considered to be divine miracles thanks to his art form: shinjutsu.

Momoshiki confirms this in Boruto's mindscape, reaffirming Shibai was the most powerful of his alien clan. He had a Byakugan and a Rinnegan, helping harness all the energy he consumed. However, he didn't need to weave hand seals to execute his moves -- it came organically to him. Rather than tapping into nature, he controlled it with a thought, so in a sense, he was nature. This enabled him to transcend to a higher plane and leave his mortal shell behind, which Amado found and began mining for the Kara terrorists.

Shibai Ōtsutsuki is the new threat in Boruto

Amado couldn't have asked for a better power source. Shibai could generate storms with a wave of his hand and call down thunder and lightning with a roar. Basically, he could think a storm into existence, coming off as a true destroyer. Thus, from Amado picking his body apart, his clairvoyance was passed to Eida, and his ability to automatically reflect any harm that's thrown toward him (both physical and mental) was planted by Amado in her brother, Daemon.

The icing on the cake, which shocks Boruto and Co., comes with the ninjutsu revelation. This art was passed down by Kaguya, and had humans using scrolls, seals and connecting to nature via Sage Mode. However, it's merely part of a system meant to copy shinjutsu; something the Rabbit Princess kept secret. In fact, none of the other Ōtsutsuki reached this level, which has fans hoping Amado didn't plant other abilities in all these enemies -- or that he didn't attempt to resurrect or clone the alien.

This stunning revelation in Chapter 75 of Boruto could lead to major trouble. Shibai would view the Earth as beneath him, which could lead to its destruction once and for all -- especially as he's far more advanced than the primitive techniques humans and the other aliens use.
