WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Chapter #61 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, “Madness,” by Masashi Kishimoto, Mikio Ikemoto, Mari Morimoto and Snir Aharon, now available in English from Viz Media.

One of the most intriguing aspects in the current Boruto arc has been what the all-seeing Eida can bring to the table. Code has recruited her after Isshiki Ōtsutsuki's death, mystified over her powers that allow her to see anything in history that's taking place -- or which has taken place back to the moment the cyborg was created. Now, come Boruto #61, Eida may well have given Code the keys to the victory using these godlike talents, with Konoha none the wiser.

Eida's deal is if she delivers Code victory against Konoha -- more so a chance at killing Naruto, Sasuke and Boruto for how they finished Isshiki off -- she'd get Kawaki as a mate. She thinks he's a lost soul, bred for the purpose of war, so she's hoping to bond and forge some sort of warped love.

Code agrees and Eida spends Boruto #61 scouring Konoha with her god's eye. The shocking thing is, she's tucking her little brother Daemon in as well, multi-tasking and tracking Kawaki while directing Code's movements. It seems at first that she's been duped as Kawaki has placed his chakra signature into a shadow clone, leaving it in Naruto's home to trick the Hokage's family.

The real Kawaki is escaping the Hidden Leaf to find a way to bring Code down, but while Boruto can tap into some telepathic link and communicate with his 'brother,' it's nothing compared to Eida's lo-jack eyes. She's seeing Kawaki without needing to track his energy, which means no one can hide from her -- alive or dead. It's remarkable as Kawaki should be hidden to the world but it shows Eida's reach in that once she has a target, she will always lock onto them.

Code truly appreciates that because while he's left his seals to teleport all over Konoha, it's now streamlined. He knows exactly what path Kawaki is taking and seeing as the teen's recovering from injuries against Isshiki and is also de-powered, Kawaki is indeed heading into a trap.

Once Code -- who's almost as strong as Isshiki -- takes Kawaki, he'll have the ultimate bargaining chip as a hostage to get the Konoha shinobi to do what he wants. Thus, while Kawaki felt he was protecting his new family, he's actually dooming them, especially as Eida can see all their plans too. It's the ultimate undetectable surveillance, leaving Boruto fans eager to find out what other skills she's hiding.

Some have speculated she may turn on Code if he gets jealous, as her other power is to make men fall for her, while others think Code's trying to figure out how he can kill Kawaki and enslave her, which was Isshiki's plan all along. Either way, Code is at least knocking one step off his master plan and for now, Eida is willing to keep playing ball as she's getting the object of her affection she so desperately craves.
