WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Chapter #57, “Eida,” of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations by Masashi Kishimoto, Mikio Ikemoto, Mari Morimoto and Snir Aharon, now available in English from Viz Media.

One of the biggest shocks in the Boruto manga was when Amado, Kara's chief scientist, defected to Konoha, revealing he wanted to kill Jigen and stop the villain turning into his true form: Isshiki Ōtsutsuki. The revelation blindsided everyone -- all this time, Amado was working with Koji Kashin to betray their leader. Admittedly, while Naruto and co. were skeptical at first, aligning with Amado did pay dividends.

That's because despite Naruto losing Kurama and Sasuke losing his Rinnegan eye, the alien overlord Jigen was killed. However, Amado is now a wanted man, with Chapter #57 revealing exactly what purpose the crafty schemer will serve for Code.

Code busts Eida out of her stasis tank at Boro's lair in the snowy mountains, garnering intel from the caretaker, Bug. It seems Code wants to use Eida, the most powerful cyborg around, and maybe construct an army of his own. But the truth is, due to her powers of knowing everything, Code really wants to know how to remove the limiters Isshiki placed on him.

Isshiki didn't want Code's powers to surpass his, but now that his 'father' is dead, Code wants to maximize his potential and exact revenge on Konoha. Naruto, Sasuke, Amado, Boruto and Kawaki are all on his kill-list, but Eida indicates Amado is actually the one who can remove the restraints via biometrics.

The first step to removing the limiters involves iris recognition, which will require Amado's eyes. The problem is, while Code thinks he can get someone to use a transformation jutsu and shapeshift into Amado, Eida admits that Amado has altered his eyes. They're scientific tools too, so another person cannot mimic either him or the tech. This further explains why Amado seeked out Naruto's council -- he needed the best protection he could get, knowing Code was a threat in case Isshiki died and transferred his powers.

So rather than blow him up, Code will need Amado conscious and willing to cooperate. But there's a second twist: vocal recognition is also part of the unlocking process. However, Amado never muttered the code word, so Eida doesn't know it. This means Code has to break into the Hidden Leaf and take the scientist alive if he's to carry out the process, which leaves him a bit annoyed.

Code knows how difficult it is raiding Konoha, as seen earlier in Boruto when Delta and even Jigen went into the Land of Fire. Still, he hates everyone who did Isshiki wrong and gears up for the abduction. With Eida willing to help him -- and kill Amado when they achieve their objective -- Code now has proper back-up in what would otherwise be an impossible mission.
