WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 163, "The Pursuers," now streaming on Crunchyroll.

As the Boruto anime rolls on, some familiar faces from Naruto are returning to the fold. It makes sense given the alliance that formed following the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War, with many characters outside of Konoha reappearing such as Gaara. Now Darui, the bodyguard of the new Raikage, is back in action, and Omoi shows why he's one of the most electrifying shinobi around.

The last episode concluded with Boruto's Team 7 being opposed in the forests of the Land of Silence as they tracked rogue ninjas who stole the Hashirama Cell. It turns out this squad is Omoi's from the Hidden Cloud, and they're angry as they heard Boruto assassinated Queen Sakuya. They don't know he's been framed, but after patching things up, Omoi uncharacteristically begins to freak out as he realizes these thieves are from the Land of Haze.

These poison ninjas have killed people from the Hidden Cloud already. Omoi panics as he knows they can weaponize and spread the DNA, creating zombie-like creatures across the land. However, Deepa, Kara's version of Joker, soon confronts them, as he wants the DNA as well. Boruto's team continues their pursuit as Omoi decides they can handle Deepa. It's a throwback to his confident days when he helped Naruto's squad fight Pain and when the Thundercloud Unit had to take down Madara's White Zetsu.

While Omoi's team uses lightning clones, Deepa isn't as easy to defeat. In fact, he absorbs most of their electricity moves, and with his lightning-fast speed, he takes out Marui and Kakui. Omoi's left in a one-on-one confrontation where he shows his enhanced speed. Both ninjas fight as if they're teleporting, throwing blows in the blink of an eye. Omoi was angry that Boruto's carelessness could undo the alliance and make the Raikage seem like he partnered with killers, but he now understands the threats Konoha was investigating on the outskirts and why they had to go behind enemy lines.

It's not going according to plan at all, however, because when Omoi unleashes his "Cloud-Style Crescent Moon" signature blade swipe, he finds that Deepa's skin can't be penetrated. This move can cut through almost anything, so if he can't use his iconic sword or any lightning-release techniques, Omoi is more or less neutralized. Still, he's one of the most adaptable shinobi around, so much so even Naruto and Sasuke have said they don't like facing him, so he can certainly dig deep to take Kara's madman out.
