To celebrate the game's second anniversary, Borderlands 3 is hosting 5 weeks of celebratory events.

The events will feature a host of returning fan-favorite game modes alongside fresh offerings. Starting from Aug. 12, players can dive into the Loot the Universe series of "mini-events." This beloved limited-time event increases the drop rate of Legendary items on certain planets; every week a new location will be highlighted, encouraging Borderlands 3 players to return to some of the game's most iconic destinations.

"Just like last year, each planet's affected zones have their own dedicated Legendary weapon type (Pistol, Shotgun, SMG, Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle, or Heavy), and may also have increased chances for Legendary gear types (Class Mods, Artifacts, Shields, or Grenade Mods)," says game developer Gearbox Software.

While Loot the Universe is running, two other events will fill in the gaps to ensure players always have something to look forward to. Starting on Sept. 9, two more mini-events begin: Mayhem Made Mild and Show Me the Eridium. The former will allow players to experience Borderlands 3's Mayhem mode with only Easy modifiers, which should result in a chaotically fun power trip. Show Me the Eridium will feature exactly what you expect as the game increases the drop rate of Eridium while also implementing discounts on several Eridium items.
