Booster Gold Pursues Himself Through Batman's History in 'Travelers' Arc

Batman #45

The mystery of writer Tom King's Booster Gold project was solved this afternoon with the release of DC Comics' solicitations for April, and the listing for Batman #45.

The first part of "The Travelers" storyline, it marks the return of artist Tony S. Daniel to Batman for a tale of time travel and, yes, Booster Gold. According to the solicitation text, Booster heads to Gotham City to recruit Batman and Catwoman for a mission through time to rescue, well, himself. A younger Booster Gold has gone back in time to kidnap an even younger version of himself, spurring the adult Booster to pursue them both through Batman's history.

As fun as a romp through time sounds, the text suggests the arc will have larger implications, as Batman #45 is described as "the start of a new story that will sow the seeds for a whole new epic to come."

Earlier this month King teased on Twitter a “new number 1 for a secret thing," leading a fan to jokingly suggest it might feature Booster Gold. The writer responded by posting a screenshot of part of a script page featuring Booster's name. Presumably "new number 1" referred to the first part of the "Travelers" arc, but we probably shouldn't discount the "whole new epic" referenced in the solicitation text.
