The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers have defended the world from alien invasions and monstrous threats on multiple occasions. But their recent bout with Godzilla is like nothing they have ever experienced before. The same can be said for the King of the Monsters, who finds these human heroes more competent than he initially expected, ending the first meeting of the mammoth icons in a stalemate. Boom! Studios and IDW Publishing band together with the best of their respective franchises and deliver the ultimate combo of heroic battles and kaiju destruction. Written by Cullen Bunn with art by Freddie Williams II, colors from Andrew Dalhouse and letters by Johanna Nattalie, Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #3 rampages its way into the hearts of the fans as the Rangers find themselves by a new type of trouble.

Continuing the all-out monster bash, Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #3 presents a new predicament for the Power Rangers. With Tommy Oliver in the grasp of Rita Repulsa, the team is already working at a diminished capacity, ultimately affecting the performance of their Megazord. Unfortunately, the problems keep on pilling up for the heroes as they face the triumvirate of villainy -- the Xilien-controlled Gigan and Rita's monsters, Eye Guy and Rhinoblaster. Together, they launch a barrage of attacks on the Megazord, pushing the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers back. As the situation gets out of hand, something is gurgling down at the seashore, enlightening the water with blue radiation. Godzilla is back, and he is looking for payback, one way or another.

Megazord in trouble in Godzilla vs The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #3

When monsters created for the purpose of destruction are thrown into the mix, they leave a trail of mayhem and chaos in their wake. Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #3 turns this alternate version of Angel Grove into a war zone where metal armor meets metal hooks and atomic breath negates energy blasts. There is not much in the way of plot as the heroes jump from place to place, clashing with enemies old and new. Every turn of the page brings the story closer to a new juncture. Writer Cullen Bunn captures the essence of the Sentai-inspired shows and kaiju movies gloriously and allows the action to speak the loudest amongst the roars and grinds.

Freddie Williams II's artwork is the driving force behind this book, fulfilling the wishes of fans worldwide of seeing their favorite characters standing side by side fighting off hordes of famous monsters. The visuals ignite a vivid nostalgia, but more than that, they evoke a sense of exhilarating action and wild, brutal savagery that captures the sheer scale of this crossover event. While Williams wreaks havoc with his granular ink work, colorist Andrew Dalhouse sets the pages on fire with the intensity of his color palette. From green witchcraft auras to white-hot atomic blasts breaking things to smithereens while engulfed in smoke and fire, Dalhouse uses bright colors to leave readers dazzled in their seats.
