Keanu Reeves is about to add "comic book writer" to his storied resume with BRZRKR, and a new variant cover will feature the author's signature.
The Reeves-signed cover features artwork by Jonboy Meyers (Teen Titans, Spawn) and will be available as a 1-in-1000 incentive in comic book stores. Reeves will co-write the book with Matt Kindt (Mind MGMT), with Ron Garney (Wolverine, Captain America) and Bill Crabtree (BPRD) providing art and colors. Rounding out the artistic team is letterer Clem Robins (Hellboy).
BRZRKR focuses on an immortal mercenary who is deployed on missions by the U.S. government. BOOM! Studios previously launched a Kickstarter campaign for BRZRKR, featuring several editions of the hardcover collection and a chance for backers to be drawn into the comic. The campaign was a massive success, raising over $14,000.
"I have loved comics since I was a young kid and they have been a significant influence on me artistically," Reeves previously said while discussing the series. "To have the chance to create BRZRKR and collaborate with legends in the industry like writer Matt Kindt...color artist Bill Crabtree, letterer Clem Robins, and conceptual/cover artist Rafael Grampá -- along with the great folks at BOOM! Studios -- is a dream come true."
