WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for The Book of Boba Fett "Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm," now streaming on Disney+.

Throughout the Star Wars universe, the history between the Wookiees and the Trandoshans has been a rough one at best. The Book of Boba Fett touches on this in "Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm," by revisiting Black Krrsantan in Garsa's Sanctuary cantina, where he suddenly attacks a group of Trandoshans for a seemingly unknown reason.

During the scene, Black Krrsantan is sitting at a table when he spots a group of Trandoshans across the room. They're gambling, laughing and generally minding their own business, but Black Krrsantan has heard enough. Electrifying his brass knuckles, the Wookiee bounty hunter brutally assaults the group and even rips off one Trandoshan's arm. But why?

Originally making his debut in Marvel's 2015 comic, Star Wars: Darth Vader from Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca, Black Krrsantan sought out a life of pit fighting in a gladiator arena to make a name for himself after fleeing his homeworld of Kashyyyk. His ambitions brought him before a powerful crime-boss duo known as the Xonti Brothers, where he desired to volunteer his services. Determined to prove himself, he brutally killed four Trandoshan slaver groups that didn't work for the Xonti Brothers and spared one Trandoshan to bring him to the crime brothers. Although he volunteered, the Xonti Brothers still caged Black Krrsantan and enslaved him into the gladiator arena. The brutal Wookiee was highly successful in the arena, killing more Trandoshan fighters and eventually becoming liberated. He was later employed by Jabba the Hutt, bringing him to Tatooine. In general, Black Krrsantan has proven that he is certainly not a victim of the Trandoshans, but that is not the case for the other unlucky Wookiees.

In general Star Wars canon, Trandoshans have been renowned as masterful hunters, with a favorite prey being the Wookiees. According to the official Star Wars website, Trandoshans kept Wookiee pelts as valuable trophies, and this can even be seen in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode, "Padawan Lost." The lizard species specifically seeks out Wookiees due partially to their religious belief. Trandoshans worship a goddess deity known as the Scorekeeper, which features a reward system known as Jagannath points. Trandoshans see Wookiees as highly prized and difficult prey, so they believe that the Scorekeeper will award them a lot of points for them, giving them a reason to collect the pelts of the Wookiees. Later, in the era of the Empire, Wookiees became classified as a slave species under the new Imperial rule. Trandoshans commonly served as slavers for the species.

In The Book of Boba Fett, Black Krrsantan no doubt has this knowledge. Seeing the Trandoshans in the cantina, combined with his personal experience with slavers and the fact that he was drinking, causes him to erupt into violence and attack the Trandoshans while the bar's patrons watch it all unfold. This also happens right in front of Boba Fett, who has come to the bar to recruit Black Krrsantan.

At the end of "Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm," Black Krrsantan officially joins Boba Fett's crew. Since The Book of Boba Fett has made it a point to bring back and introduce plenty of characters into its series, it's possible that the infamous Trandoshan bounty hunter, Bossk, could make his return. If this is the case, it would offer plenty of conflicts and a lot of contention between the Wookiee and Trandoshan, finally putting them in a state of having to work together in a live-action environment.

To see more of Black Krrsantan, The Book of Boba Fett is now streaming on Disney+, with new episodes airing on Wednesdays.
