WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Book of Boba Fett, "Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm," now streaming on Disney+.

Han Solo and Chewbacca are two of the biggest icons in Star Wars. They've permeated into pop culture, with Harrison Ford's performances being a highlight of the franchise and the Wookiee being worshipped by many. Their stature is one of the reasons why fans loved seeing Black Krrsantan, aka Santy, pop up in The Book of Boba Fett, as the Wookiee had beef with the duo in the comics. Well, come the latest episode of the Disney+ series, Boba brokered a deal with Krrsantan, and in the process, he put a dark spin on Han and Chewie's bond.

From the time of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Han and Chewie partnered out of necessity, essentially needing each other to survive. They owed each other a life debt after Beckett pulled them out of the pit, starting a beautiful friendship that would culminate with the rebels and Skywalkers. Through thick and thin, their relationship evolved from business to brotherhood, with Leia, Luke and everyone who worked with the duo realizing these guys would do anything for each other. Now, Boba has taken the first steps towards carving out his own loyal bond with a Wookiee after recruiting Santy outside Garsa Fwip's cantina on Mos Espa for the war to come.

Boba saw Santy ripping apart Trandoshans, clearly needing a direction to point his anger, so the daimyo offered him a job. The Wookiee contemplated before ultimately accepting, but rather than needing Boba to survive, as the ex-gladiator could do it on his own and find other jobs, Santy appears to want to repay Boba.

After all, Boba could have executed him when Santy botched the hit on the daimyo for the Hutts. The Twins offered the Wookiee up as tribute as part of their apology, but Boba showed mercy, freeing Santy and warning him not to work for scumbags who'd betray or deem him expendable. In that sense, while Chewie helped cure an angsty Han seeking purpose back in the day, Boba's now the one guiding a rage-filled Santy, helping him find his inner peace.

However, as their fledgling relationship blossoms, Boba may have doomed the fuzzball with an unintentionally crueler fate because he's now roped him into war against the Pykes. It again mirrors how Han's love for Leia kept Chewie with the rebels, but in this case, Boba's need for order is what pulls Santy in, with the Wookiee wanting to serve some kind of purpose outside of starting bar fights.

And who knows, with the deal struck and Santy enforcing for Han's former enemy, it's possible they'll cross paths and get a rematch against Han and Chewie in the pre-Force Awakens era. Clearly, Boba and Santy have an affinity for each other after decades of being bounty hunters, and they could give the galaxy's most iconic duo a run for their money.

To see Boba and Black Krrsantan as allies, a new episode of The Book of Boba Fett arrives each Wednesday on Disney+.
