The second season of the Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett may already be written and possibly in early pre-production.

Per Making Star Wars, crews in Southern California are currently working on "production elements specifically tied to the character [Boba Fett]," such as props, his ship's cockpit and more. Additionally, sources confirmed other production elements in the works, like a Mando armor for Moff Gideon and new Imperial Troopers.

Boba Fett and Din Djarin Return in The Mandalorian Season 3

The first season of The Book of Boba Fett featured The Mandalorian's Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, in an episode that picked up where Season 2 of The Mandalorian left off. The sources stated that the production elements mentioned above might be for a Boba Fett-centric episode of Season 4 of The Mandalorian, which series creator Jon Favreau recently confirmed is already written.

According to the rumors, it's possible that the second season of The Book of Boba Fett got fast-tracked ahead of a potential writers' strike. "There is a lot of uncertainty in how the next year will unfold for the industry and what it will mean for Star Wars," Ward said. "If Boba Fett 2 is happening and he's not just in Mando 4, I speculate The Mandalorian 4 and Book of Boba Fett 2 might both film concurrently like Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew did." Disney has not officially renewed The Book of Boba Fett for a second season.

Disney+ released The Book of Boba Fett in Dec. 2021. Created by Jon Favreau, it featured the highly-anticipated return of the fan-favorite titular character. The first season traced Fett's steps out of the Sarlac Pit, which he fell into during Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and followed his rise to power as the new Daimyo of Moss Espa.

The Book of Boba Fett continued The Mandalorian's tradition of hiring Hollywood directors to helm episodes. Season one featured episodes directed by Robert Rodriguez and Bryce Dallas Howard. It starred Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, and featured Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, Amy Sedaris as Peli Moto and Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth.

The Book of Boba Fett Season 1 is currently streaming on Disney+. The Mandalorian Season 3 begins streaming on Disney+ on Mar. 1.
