A new rumor claims The Book of Boba Fett will see the famed bounty hunter fight a familiar foe.

According to Star Wars News Net, one scene in the upcoming Disney+ series will see Boba square off with a rancor. The outlet said multiple sources confirmed a scene involving Boba and the iconic Star Wars creature, though it wasn't clear if he was battling the beast or taming it. Either way, the scene is said to involve Boba on the back of the rancor as it crashes through the streets of Tatooine. The rancor in question will be a new member of the species, not the one Luke slew in Return of the Jedi.

The Mandalorian Season 2 ended with the returned Boba Fett and Fennec Shand taking over Jabba the Hutt's criminal empire. Meanwhile, the synopsis for The Book of Boba Fett confirmed that the pair will be struggling to maintain control of the enterprise. If the rumor is true, it seems the late Jabba kept more than one rancor and Boba will have to contend with it along with those who wish to wrest his newfound power from him.

Director and executive producer Robert Rodriguez teased that the new show will be a sight to behold. It will utilize the same Volume technology as The Mandalorian, allowing for impressive locations and special effects. "Wait until you see what’s coming," Rodriguez said in August. "It’s going to blow your mind. That’s all I can say. I can talk it up all I want because I know it over-delivers. It way over-delivers. People are going to be so pumped when they see it."

A scene involving Boba Fett riding a rancor as it smashes up buildings on Tatooine certainly sounds like a mind-blowing moment for Star Wars fans. And it continues Disney and Lucasfilm's campaign to play all the hits by injecting plenty of existing lore into the new shows that are rolling out. Along the same lines, it's been rumored that The Clone Wars bounty hunter Cad Bane will make his live-action debut on Boba Fett's show. Similar to Boba, Cad Bane is a fan-favorite, so if all the rumors are true, the team behind the upcoming series is making sure to give viewers what they want.
