WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Book of Boba Fett "Chapter 1: Stranger In a Strange Land," now available on Disney+.

When The Mandalorian reintroduced Gamorreans in its Season 2 premiere, fans were glad to see Star Wars' much-maligned "pig-lizards" done justice. The show proved they were more than just muscle to Jabba the Hutt, redesigning them in the process so they didn't come off like waddling comic relief. Now, come The Book of Boba Fett, Gamorreans had another major upgrade in terms of personality, proving they're as loyal as can be, in addition to getting a physical boost that makes them super-thicc.

Fans enjoyed seeing them as fierce warriors in The Mandalorian, with less-grotesque facial features. This gave them a dash of humanity rather than just being brutal beasts. In their brief appearance, Mando watched them dueling in a ritualistic manner to reiterate that they were respectable warriors.

In The Book of Boba Fett, this code of honor and overall character stood out more, with Fennec Shand having a pair brought before Boba as he took over Mos Espa. Ruling as the new daimyo (aka the crime lord), Fennec asked Boba to kill them since she didn't think the Gamorreans were loyal. But the boss insisted on mercy, wanting them to follow him like they did his predecessors.

They quickly agreed, leaving Fennec wondering if they'd backstab Boba and herself at the first chance. However, she was proven wrong after leaving Garsa Fwip's cantina, when their entourage was ambushed by a group of desert ninjas. Luckily, the Gamorrean warriors intervened, beating the ninjas down and allowing Fennec to go after a couple to take hostage. They then picked Boba up, who instructed them to escort him to his bacta tank to recuperate. And so they did, ensuring their overlord got patched up and more so, seeming very invested in keeping him healthy.

The boss would surely be impressed with the Gamorreans' heroics because if not for them, Boba and Fennec may have been killed. What also stood out is how they've been streamlined since Ralph McQuarrie's designs, crafting a figure more intimidating than usual.

They were previously seen as aggressively unintelligent, communicating through piglike snorts and squeals, but their facial expressions in this premiere, as well as their sentimental attitude and thick behinds, show they are a much more superior species than they've been given credit for. They feel like goons who work out as opposed to the old days, where they seemed to lack personal hygiene and were more akin to Warhammer's infamous Orks.

In The Book of Boba Fett, Gamorreans are more like warriors from the Flash Gordon mythos, with muscular calves, strong arms and a silent demeanor, as if to say, "Bro, you do even lift?" It may be why Boba knew they'd come in handy because with so many enemies eyeing his throne, he's going to need soldiers who are a cut above the rest.
