Warning: The following contains spoilers for The Book of Boba Fett, "Chapter 3: The Streets of Mos Espa," now streaming on Disney+.

In The Book of Boba Fett, fans rejoiced when they saw Black Krrsantan enter the fray to hunt down Boba Fett, bringing yet another Marvel Comics character into live-action. And his role was especially fun because it was in line with his comic iteration, who would take any contract if it paid big enough. However, when his rivalry with Boba came to an abrupt end in Episode 3, it created a giant plot hole.

When Boba and "Santy," as Doctor Aphra calls the fuzzball in the comics, squared off in The Book of Boba Fett Episode 2, the stare down indicated they knew each other. This stuck to Marvel's 2015 Star Wars stories where they both worked for Darth Vader on nefarious missions. In the Darth Vader run from Jason Aaron and Mark Mayhew, Krrsantan also worked alongside Boba after Vader hired them, with Fett tracking down the rebels who blew up the Death Star, while Krrsantan went after Cylo, a cybernetic agent of Emperor Palatine who turned out to be a mad scientist.

They clearly grew familiar with each other in this run, which is why it was odd to see the live-action series paint them as strangers when the dust settled. This came to light when Krrsantan tried to assassinate Boba, which, at first, felt like he put old missions aside for the payday. This made sense in the bounty hunter world because no one had allegiance to anything but the almighty coin. However, it was odd that Boba didn't try to talk him out of the kill, and that, after Boba's crew captured the Wookiee, they still acted like they didn't know each other.

And things got even weirder when the Hutts left Santy behind as an apology and departed Tatooine after Mos Espa was bequeathed to the Pyke Syndicate. Boba freed Santy, but rather than discuss the past or chart a partnership forward, a redeemed, optimistic Boba told him he shouldn't take work from a "scughole." This didn't add up, though, because it implied not only that they're new to each other, but also that their Vader recruitment didn't happen. After all, Vader is one of the most sinister figures the galaxy has ever seen, meaning either Boba's being a hypocrite, or the comics aren't in canon as much as fans were led to believe.

It's a strange discrepancy that creates incongruity with the duo, which hopefully can be rectified with some exposition if they ally again soon. A civil war's breaking out on Tatooine, and Santy may sign up with Boba after the act of mercy, potentially giving the former duo a chance to reminisce about their shared experiences.

To see if Black Krrsantan returns to help Boba, a new episode of The Book of Boba Fett arrives each Wednesday on Disney+.
