Warning: The following contains major spoilers from Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett “Chapter 5: The Return of the Mandalorian,” streaming now on Disney+.

The latest episode of The Book of Boba Fett, "Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian" featured several key character crossovers from The Mandalorian to the point where it may as well have been another episode of the latter Disney+ series.

The fifth episode of The Book of Boba Fett includes the return of several favorites from The Mandalorian. The decision to focus on characters from The Mandalorian is causing further division within the fan base that hasn't warmed up to the show in the first place. Regardless, "Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian" updates viewers on where these characters left off and hints where they're going in the future. That provides a lot of information on what Season 3 of The Mandalorian could be about and where it could pick up the storyline.

Din Djarin ("The Mandalorian")

The Mandalorian himself, Din Djarin, is the focus in the appropriately named fifth episode of The Book of Boba Fett, "Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian." After his appearance was teased in the fourth episode of the series, the show opens with Djarin collecting a bounty in brutal fashion, now equipped with the darksaber.

"Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian" features Djarin's training with the iconic darksaber weapon, led by none other than The Armorer. After Djarin confesses that he had taken off his helmet -- something that is forbidden amongst his particular Mandalorian clan -- he is officially stripped of his title. He ends up on Tatooine where he is gifted the classic N-1 starfighter, a featured Nabooian ship. The former Mandalorian fixes up the ship to his liking with an assist from Peli Motto. At the end of the episode, Djarin is approached by none other than Fennec Shand, where he's officially recruited into Boba Fett's group of muscle. However, Djarin states that he must do one thing first: pay a visit to a little friend.

The Armorer

The Armorer talking to Din Djarin in The Mandalorian

A powerful blacksmith, ally, and now combat trainer, The Armorer makes her wise reappearance showing Djarin "the way." The Armorer was last seen defending her Mandalorian enclave from the ransacking of stormtroopers with her tools. Between then and her appearance in The Book of Boba Fett, The Armorer fled her enclave along with fellow Mandalorian Paz Viszla to a mysterious ring-like space station.

As previously stated, The Armorer serves as a guide for Din Djarin in the ways of the darksaber, emphasizing that he focus on his opponent rather than the heaviness of the ancient Mandalorian weapon. Djarin shows The Armorer the Beskar spear he had used in a duel with Moff Gideon, and she retorts that the material used for the weapon belongs on armor. Agreeing with her, Djarin requests The Armorer recraft the weapon into armor for a foundling -- that foundling being Grogu. After stating Djarin is no longer Mandalorian, she declares that the only way he may be forgiven is through being blessed by the "living waters beneath the mines of Mandalore," which will prove to be a difficult task as the planet was previously bombarded by the Imperials.

Paz Viszla

The Mandalorian Paz Viszla

A descendant of the famed Viszla Mandalorian clan, Paz Viszla was last seen helping Djarin escape from the planet of Navarro after the destruction of his Mandalorian underground base. In The Book of Boba Fett, Paz Viszla challenges Din Djarin to duel for the rights to the darksaber. Paz Viszla desires to hold the weapon that ran in his family and believes that Djarin is too weak to brand the weapon that was previously forged by his ancestors.

Viszla is seemingly winning the duel, slamming Djarin into a wall and promptly picking up his birthright weapon. Not realizing just how heavy the darksaber is, Viszla leaves himself open long enough for Djarin to retaliate and win the altercation. When Djarin reveals that he had broken the Creed, Viszla declares him an "apostate" leaving Djarin to shamefully resign from his Mandalorian group.

Peli Motto

The Mandalorian and Peli Motto

The Mandalorian's former engineer, Peli Motto actually made a prior cameo in The Book of Boba Fett during a brief flashback in "Chapter 3: The Streets of Mos Espa." She was seen walking around with her pit droids. In The Mandalorian, Motto was last seen advising Djarin on a possible ping from his Mandalorian brethren, given to her by a contact. As a tradeoff, she would send Djarin on an escort mission of the Frog Lady and her spawn, who require transportation.

Peli Motto, after being asked about a new ship, gives Djarin the option of the N-1 Starfighter she had been working on. Initially in rough shape, they fix the ship up to be branded with new armor. Motto also continues her quirky dialogue. She makes the remark that she "dated a Jawa once" after being asked about how she obtained seemingly obsolete parts from the Jawa.

Carson Teva

The Book of Boba Fett Carson

Carson Teva was last seen in The Mandalorian during talks of New Republic recruitment for Marshal Cara Dune, where he was refused. The X-Wing security pilot makes a brief cameo at the end of the latest Book of Boba Fett episode when stopping Din Djarin for security clearance as he's leaving the planet. As Teva is speaking to Djarin, he suggests that he recognizes him and asks about his ownership of a Razor Crest ship.

Fans of The Mandalorian will recall that he was part of the security squad that chased Djarin onto the ice planet of Maldo Kreis. After sustaining severe damage and being forced to crash land, the Razor Crest is invaded by a brutal species of ice spiders. Teva and his partner Trapper Wolf make the decision to help the Mandalorian and let him off the hook for the arrest warrant on his ship -- but they promise to vaporize the ship the next time. Djarin, likely remembering this, makes the decision to quickly jet off once again before Teva fully pieces together how he recognizes him.
