This article contains spoilers for Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #2, on sale now from DC Comics.

Victoria Kord, the character who Susan Sarandon will be playing in the upcoming live-action film, makes her official debut in DC's Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #2.

Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #2 comes from writer Josh Trujillo, artist Adrián Gutiérrez, colorist Wil Quintana and letterer Lucas Gattoni. In the issue, Jamie Reyes/Blue Beetle is sent to Palmera City, a new locale in the DC universe, after Superman officially grounds him from being a superhero. While he initially gets a job in the restaurant industry, Jamie is still pulled back into superhero life despite Superman's instructions when he's attacked by the Yellow Beetle right outside of Kord Industries, which happens to have offices in Palmera City.

Ted Kord saves Jamie from Yellow Beetle's attack thanks to an antikinetic plasma gel device he says he's been "playing" with. Immediately after the fight, Ted says there's someone "very important" he wants Jamie to meet, at which point he introduces her to his older sister, Victoria Kord. Victoria is the CEO of Kord Industries who tells Jamie she strictly runs the "business and research." She continues, "Our mission at Kord Industries is to point humanity toward the future. We make our alien-derived technology patent-free, allowing it to be shared with our competitors around the world."

Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #2 marks the official debut of the character, meaning much else is known about Victoria at this time apart from what's revealed in the issue. Sarandon told Jimmy Fallon a little bit about her Blue Beetle role when appearing on The Tonight Show in Sept. 2022, saying, "I'm of course the bad guy. I'm the white military-industrial complex, so I had a fabulous time because there's nothing better than being bad."

Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #2 features cover and variant art by Gutiérrez and Quintana and an additional variant cover by Ramon Villalobos. The issue is on sale now from DC.
