HBO Max's Blue Beetle movie may have finally found its Jamie Reyes.

The Wrap reports Cobra Kai star Xolo Maridueña is in talks to star as Blue Beetle in the HBO Max film. Maridueña portrays Miguel Diaz in Cobra Kai as it moved from YouTube Originals to Netflix, with its fourth season set to debut at a later date.

Maridueña's Miguel became Johnny Lawrence's first student when he stops a group of bullies from beating up the youngster. Though he is standoffish with Miguel in the beginning, Johnny soon becomes a father figure to his student. Unfortunately, a fight between Miguel and Johnny's son Robby results in Miguel being paralyzed when he's kicked off a balcony railing by Robby. Miguel is able to regain the use of his legs thanks to constant supervision and encouragement from Johnny, with the two eventually opening a new dojo called Eagle Fang when Kreese takes control over Cobra Kai.

Charm City Kings director Angel Manuel Soto will helm Blue Beetle from Warner Bros. and DC Films. It will mark the first DC film starring a Latino lead. Originally slated to appear in theaters, Blue Beetle has now been moved to HBO Max to join Batgirl, which recently cast In the Heights star Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon and JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.

Directed by Angel Manuel Soto, Blue Beetle does not yet have a release date.
