Bloody Hannibal Trailer Sets Stage For Bryan Fuller's NBC Thriller

It seems like we've been talking about Bryan Fuller's Hannibal for ages now without really knowing the full story.

Sure, we knew the basic premise -- brilliant psychologist and secret murderer/cannibal Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) helps FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) solve crimes -- but we didn't quite get the full extent of Dancy's character. However, thanks to the new trailer from NBC, viewers have a better idea of what they're dealing with.

As you can see, Graham is recruited by Agent Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) to work with the FBI early in the series because of Graham's unique ability to get himself into the same headspace as some of the country's craziest killers. Lecter comes into play initially because Crawford wants Graham to go through a psych evaluation. After Graham talks about the case, Lecter winds up coming on board as well, creating a team-up of epic -- and possible psychotic -- proportions.

Hannibal also stars Scott Thompson. Caroline Dhavernas and Aaron Abrams. The series will also feature guest appearances by Gillian Anderson and Lance Henriksen.

Hannibal premieres Thursday, April 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
