An action figure prototype for Valiant Entertainment's Bloodshot movie offers a new look at Vin Diesel as the titular character.Dinesh Shamdasani, a producer on Bloodshot, shared an image of the figure Friday at New York Comic-Con. The figure comes from the Todd McFarlane line of action figures. Shamdasani captioned the photo, "Spotted at #NYCC! One of the early @Todd_McFarlane @vindiesel as Bloodshot action figure prototypes! #BloodshotMovie #Bloodshot2020"
The figure shares Diesel's facial features, with Bloodshot donning his familiar black t-shirt and army fatigue pants. The red dripping dot also appears in the middle of the shirt, with shin and knee pads layering the pants, and a gun holstered to each hip. A large assault rifle and knife share a pedestal near Bloodshot's feet. According to director Dave Wilson, fans can expect to see the first trailer arrive this month.
The Bloodshot comic, a saga about an amnesiac soldier who can rapidly heal and shapeshift (thanks to nanites in his blood) on a quest for vengeance, was created by Kevin VanHook, Don Perlin and Bob Layton. The character first appeared in Eternal Warrior #34.
Directed by Dave Wilson (VFX Supervisor for Avengers: Age of Ultron) with a script by Eric Heisserer (Arrival) and Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare), Bloodshot stars Vin Diesel, Guy Pearce and Toby Kebbell. The film is slated to arrive on February 21, 2020.
