It was back in March 2018 that The Fast and the Furious franchise veteran Vin Diesel confirmed he was starring in Sony's live-action film centered on the popular Valiant Comics character Bloodshot. Now, the actor has shared the first photo of his character from the film, Ray Garrison.

Ray Garrison, of course, is a former soldier who's gifted with regeneration and meta-morphing abilities after being injected with nanites. Judging by the photo, this is Vin Diesel portraying Garrison prior to the nanite injection.

Until now, the closest we've seen of Vin Diesel as a fully formed Bloodshot came courtesy of artwork by Lewis LaRosa, which Diesel himself had signed.

Bloodshot, now in production, is expected to kick off Sony's five-film shared universe plan, which will also include adaptations of fellow Valiant titles Harbingers and Harbinger Wars.

Directed by Dave Wilson (VFX Supervisor for Avengers: Age of Ultron) with a script by Eric Heisserer (Arrival) and Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare), Bloodshot stars Vin Diesel, Guy Pearce and Toby Kebbell. The film is slated to arrive on February 21, 2020.
