WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Netflix’s Blood Red Sky, available now on Netflix.

Netflix's Blood Red Sky doesn't let up in the second half of the movie, as Nadja (Peri Baumeister) starts losing control of her vampiric side on a transatlantic flight. With the hijackers onboard ultimately transforming into vampires as well, it's pure chaos that culminates in the plane being rerouted to Scotland. However, when the Royal Air Force sets down some key rules for the two remaining survivors, it's clear the explosive bloodbath at the end is the fault of Farid (Kais Setti).

Early in the flight, the hijackers released a recording staged to pin the blame on the Muslim passengers for the seizing of the plane. However, by the time the aircraft lands in Scotland, virtually everyone aboard, is dead or bitten, transforming the plane into a vampire nest. The only two living souls are the physicist, Farid, who's now piloting the plane, and Nadja's son, Elias (Carl Anton Koch), in the cargo bay.

The boy eventually slips out from one of the wheels, devastated that his mother gave in to her savage side after fighting off so many monsters onboard. With Nadja's humanity gone, Elias tries to convince the soldiers of what's happening, but they drug him, thinking he's delusional and in shock. Farid, however, obeys their rules to not disembark until nightfall, because he can tell they think he's to blame for the hijacking. And in reality, this happens for plot convenience so the finale occurs after the sun sets, when the vampires come out to feed.

But common sense should've pushed Farid to get off in any case. If he stays, the monsters would've flocked to the cockpit, broken in and bitten him, which really leaves him with no other option. It's possible the Scottish army may have attacked him on sight, but there was also a chance they may have just tranquilized and restrained him.

Instead, by waiting and letting daylight pass, he allows the soldiers to raid after sunset, which results in the creatures awakening and feeding. Farid eventually escapes, but the wait results in Elias having to blow up the plane with one of the hijackers' detonators. The explosion kills all the vampires, including his mom, and it's all because of Farid, who wasn't brave enough to run, despite fighting the monsters on the plane hours before.

To see how Farid causes the film's bloody ending, Blood Red Sky is streaming now on Netflix.
