Maika may have been born in Japan, but she is in love with foreign culture through and through. While learning about Japanese history when she was young, she suddenly gave up on it and said she was bored.

Maika's love of foreign culture makes her quite obsessed with certain aspects. Maika has admitted to loving Santa Claus as well as "the man from the chicken place." This man from the chicken place happens to be Kernel Sanders from KFC, which is noted in anime as being one aspect of Christmas.
