Something terrifying is stalking the streets of Japan in the teaser trailer for the live-action adaptation of the Bleach manga, and the only person who can fight back against the monsters is a young man with a very, very big sword. Of course, he needs to be stabbed with that sword before he can take up arms against his foe.

The movie will follow the events of the manga series of the same name by Tite Kubo. Bleach follows the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager who is entrusted with the powers of a Soul Reaper, warriors who help souls pass into the afterlife and fight monsters called Hollows.

The creature in the trailer is one such Hollow, a spirit that has gone mad and resorted to feeding on other souls. Hollows are called such because each one possesses a gaping hole somewhere on their body. In the case of the Hollow in the trailer, its hole rests squarely in the center of its chest.
