Ichigo Kurosaki is a big name in the anime world, since he's one of the strongest heroes ever put on paper and screen. Bleach follows Ichigo and his friends as he takes the power journey from temporary Shinigami to full-fledged Shonen Hero, worthy of being a part of the elusive Big Three. Having upwards of 18 different forms by the end of the series, he has grown into his powers, though many believe he does so too quickly.

But Ichigo is not the strongest there is. Sadly, he is shown up by many of his anime compatriots. Ichigo is a top tier character, but he is not the top of top. In celebration of Ichigo’s Birthday (July 15), let’s take a look at other anime characters, in no particular order, who have attained power levels greater than Ichigo could ever dream of.

10 10. Koro Sensei (Assassination Classroom)

Koro-Sensei is a blob of extreme power. While he is introduced as a school teacher, his powers shouldn’t be underestimated. His assortment of natural defenses, thanks to genetic experimentation, makes him one of the most powerful beings in the world. Had he kept his original path as the Reaper, he would probably be higher on a ranked power list.

Koro-Sensei can liquefy himself, change color and shape, and is practically indestructible unless using a specialized antimatter weapon. His speed is also an important factor in his power. With incredible reflexes, a strong defense, and an abundance of energy, Koro-Sensei is able to take on whatever is thrown at him.

9 9. Naruto (Naruto: Shippuden)

Naruto Uzumaki is number one of the Big Three mentioned before. Fans got to see him progress from a preteen troublemaker to Hokage. He has recently become a meme, being called Boruto’s Dad in casual conversations. But there is no mistaking he one of the strongest heroes in the Naruto world. His progression of power was well earned, even if he already had the boosts of both being a blood legacy of multiple powerful bloodlines and being a Jinchūriki. His strength is backed by his emotions, getting stronger as he feels more love or hatred.

Naruto is an expertly skilled shinobi with a wide array of jutsus and higher forms at his side as well. In his ultimate form of the Six Paths Sage Mode, he can withstand attacks that would, and did, kill most other shinobis of his world. His normal power puts him in an easy slot on this list, and his extra powers make him knock Ichigo clean off.

8 8. Killua Zoldyck (Hunter x Hunter)

Killua Zoldyck is a child in Hunter x Hunter, yet he has enough power to be listed alongside the rest of these powerful characters, even though he is not nearly as strong as other characters on his show. His upbringing in an aggressive home and his natural abilities with his Nen make him a force to be reckoned with. Killua's abilities are in Transmutation Nen, which allows him to change his aura to reflect his favored form of energy, electricity, which shows his power already since most in the Hunter x Hunter world cannot do this. His family even forced him to undergo strict assassin training since he was a baby. Training that included being tortured.

use of electricity is formidable, bolstering his abilities, including making his muscles move faster and his reactions literally lightning-quick. Most cannot stand an attack made up of electricity. His Godspeed moves are what set him apart from the crowd.  While most heroes need to see a move coming to block, Killua can feel it without knowing. He is also granted the ability to move at super speeds, making him the Flash of anime.

7 7. Alucard (Hellsing)

Alucard is a vampire anti-hero that makes his way into any situation using the gaggle of powers he possesses. He is a monster, in both his abilities and in the literal sense. Able to take a bullet to the head from point-blank and laugh it off, Alucard gives any foe a run for their money.

His power set ranges from being able to harden his skin to extreme speeds to intangibility, making him able to walk through walls and attacks. By draining a foe of their blood, he can absorb their soul, thereby retaining their memories and skills for future use. At his ultimate power, he is an army of thousands in one body. His power grows as he lives, and he has lived for over 500 years.

6 6. Tetsuo Shima (Akira)

Much like Alucard, Tetsuo Shima has a monstrous form that takes the power-wielding cake. In his power development, Tetsuo is a gifted, though tragic, boy with mental powers, soon to be seen in live-action. When he gets hurt, he loses control of his powers and spirals into a horrifying form. This form is practically a god.

In a normal fight, Tetsuo can hold his own in human form. When he loses control, he can completely wipe out entire areas, crushing anyone in his path. He is shown to have strength, speed, and regeneration in this form. A god amongst mortals, but his lack of control over his powers is what makes him not as strong as other entries on this list.

5 5. Goku (Dragon Ball)

Of course, this list has Goku, anime’s number one boy. It is common knowledge that Goku’s power is rivaled by none. His constant upgrades to power and his training make him one of the most formidable battlers out there. Even in Dragon Ball Super, Goku is still gaining new powers that make him the strongest there is, including Super Saiyan God Form and Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken.

As much as Goku’s hair changes color, so do his basic power levels, even though he started at over 9000 to begin with. Even his social powers get boosts depending on the circumstance, including befriending his mortal enemies and getting his son to love him while also beating him in multiple fights. That’s a strength that cannot be taught.

4 4. Giorno Giovana (Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure)

Giorno Giovana, the season five beautiful muscly Jojo boy, is strong on his own. He has a strong emotional grasp that comes from being treated horribly as a child and a simple dream, to become a Gang-Star. That's a gangster and super-star. The child of Dio Brando from previous seasons, Giorno is an exceptionally powered 15-year-old.

His stand, Gold Experience, is one of the most versatile, allowing him to create life and transmute various items, objects, and creatures, including turning butterflies into money. This transmutation can trick even the smartest fighter and Giorno only needs a few moments to enact his plot. If that doesn’t work, he can reflect attacks. Even still if that doesn’t work, an enemy can be sure to face some mudas coming their way.

3 3. Luffy (One Piece)

Monkey D. Luffy is the pirate king of the future. His one true goal has never changed and he has been building power from the moment he ate the gum-gum fruit. To reach his pirate king name, he has fought through countless enemies, amassing armies under his name and special talents. Shockingly, his one weakness is that he can't swim.

His power allows him to have incredible strength, dexterity, and defense, changing his body elasticity and being able to cover himself in an armor made of his essence. He is also one of the few users of the Haoshoku Haki which allows him to use his willpower to change the wills of others. In a fight, this is incredibly overpowered. Pair his powers with the pure luck he happens to have in his fights, Luffy is extremely powerful.

2 2. Kirby (Kirby: Right Back At Ya!)

Yes, that Kirby. While he started and remains a staple of video games, Kirby had his shot at the anime scene with Kirby: Right Back At Ya! While many see him as a tiny puffball of joy from space, Kirby is seen by some as an eldritch horror. He doesn’t make things easier on himself when he swallows whole people, and in some cases, whole buildings.

Kirby is an expert fighter as well. He can hold his own against warlords, armies, and giant hands in the sky. Factor in his ability to fly, control a warpstar, and absorb enemies and their powers, Kirby is one of the strongest anime characters ever made. There's even a mini-game in Star Allies, called Star Slam Hero, where Kirby uses a baseball bat to knock a star light-years into space. It makes one worry what would happen if Kirby ever unleashed his full power.

1 1. Saitama (One Punch Man)

Saitama, or Captain Baldy, is arguably the strongest anime character ever created. His one goal in life is to find someone who can actually give him a challenge, but he has yet to find that. While it is unknown how he got them, his abilities are extremely powerful.

Only using a little bit of his energy, Saitama proves to have immense strength, agility, and speed. He doesn’t need to be cocky with his powers. He doesn’t even take credit for his heroic efforts throughout his series. In most fights, he cares about food or keeping a wig on more than looking at the enemy. He could easily wipe the floor with every person on this list, including Ichigo. That’s just how powerful he is.
