SPOILER WARNING: This article contains minor spoilers for Blade Runner 2049, which debuts in theaters October 6.

Just when it seemed the anticipation couldn't get any higher for Blade Runner 2049, Sony Pictures premiered a new international TV spot online showcasing even more of the upcoming sequel to Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic. The short spot gives audiences perhaps the best understanding of the overall plot of the film we've had so far, especially concerning the motives of Jared Leto's antagonist, Niander Wallace, which has largely been kept under wraps until recently.

"Replicants are the future of the species, but I can only make so many," Leto explains, with Ryan Gosling's character, Officer K, later warning that the baddie apparently plans on "constructing an army." The spot also shows off even more of Denis Villeneuve's directorial vision, which seem to compliment the original film's aesthetics, though a large portion of the trailer highlights some pretty large and high stakes action sequences, which is a bit of a departure from Blade Runner's more quiet, noir approach back in 1982.
