Dutch actress Sylvia Hoeks has joined Warner Bros.' "Blade Runner 2" in a leading role. According to TheWrap, story details for the film have not been disclosed, and so Hoeks' role remains a mystery for now.

“Sylvia is a radiant talent, a tremendous actress with great appeal in a wide variety of roles. Her addition to this vastly accomplished international cast is a perfect fit,” producers Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove said in a statement.

Hoeks has starred in a number of Dutch and European television series and films, though she also appeared opposite Geoffrey Rush in 2013's "The Best Offer." She will also appear in next year's "The Lake" with Sullivan Stapleton and J.K. Simmons.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve (“Sicario,” “Prisoners”), the film is set several decades after the events of Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi classic, with Harrison Ford reprising his role as Rick Deckard. He’s joined by Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright and Dave Bautista.

Scott will executive produce the film, which features a script by Michael Green and “Blade Runner” screenwriter Hampton Fancher.

Production is set to begin in July. "Blade Runner 2" arrives in theaters on Oct. 6, 2017.
