Marvel's announcement of the release date for Mahershala Ali's Blade movie has now been deleted.

In the early morning of Oct. 5, the official Marvel India Twitter account released a graphic displaying the dates for various films in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The graphic featured dates for films we already knew about, including Eternals on Nov. 5, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on March 25, 2022, Thor: Love and Thunder on May 6, 2022, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on July 8, 2022 and The Marvels on Nov. 11, 2022. What surprised MCU fans was seeing the inclusion of the Blade logo with the date of Oct. 7, 2022.

However, hours after the graphic went up on Twitter, Marvel India deleted the post without any explanation. It's unknown if the release dates weren't supposed to be shared at this point in time, or if there was an error with Blade's release date. If the Oct. 7, 2022 date were to hold, it would mean five MCU films are scheduled to release in 2022.

David S. Goyer, a writer on the original Blade trilogy of movies, recently discussed Marvel's reboot of the vampire hunter. "I love it. I mean, one of the things, if you're a comic book fan, there is the 1940s Batman and the 1950s Batman, and then there's the Denny O'Neil and Neil Adams' Batman, and the Frank Miller Batman," Goyer told CBR. "They're perennials, and I couldn't be more tickled that another version of Blade is coming out. [Marershala Ali] is certainly one of the most amazing actors working today. I'll be one of the first people to buy a ticket to that film."

Blade director Bassam Tariq also expanded on the lack of canon providing a fresh take on this new version of the Marvel hero. "What's exciting about the film that we're making is [there] hasn't been a canon for Blade, as we're reading through the comics and everything," Tariq said. "Him being a daywalker is the one thing that's been established, and you know we can't deny what Wesley Snipes did, which was he basically got this whole ball rolling."

"For me to now be working with somebody as talented and a juggernaut as Mahershala Ali, and the writer Stacy Osei-Kuffour, I'm just so -- I'm so honored to be working with real Black juggernauts and Black talent," he added. "For me to just be with them in this room and listen and learn as I build this out, it's really an honor."

Blade does not currently have a release date.
