As we get closer to the start of production on Marvel Studios' Black Widow, a new report suggests the film will head to the United Kingdom for a portion of filming.

The long-awaited solo film starring Scarlett Johansson was expected to begin production near the end of February, with some reports stating the production would head to both Croatia and Miami. Now, a new report from HN Entertainment claims the feature will also film in the United Kingdom.

Previous Marvel Studios films such as Spider-Man: Far From Home, Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy have all filmed in the UK at locations like Pinewood Studios UK, Shepperton Studios and Longcross Studios. It also seems the UK will serve as the primary location for Black Widow as the site indicates Croatia could possibly be used to film exterior scenes, while Miami may simply be used for a handful of scenes.

The crew for the film continues to grow, having recently added costume designer Jany Temime (Harry Potter, Spectre) along with the previously added cinematographer Rob Hardy (Annihilation, Ex Machina). With production set to kickoff relatively soon, we should (hopefully) begin to hear casting news in the coming weeks as the film appears to have plenty of roles to fill.

Black Widow is set to be directed by Cate Shortland (Berlin Syndrome) from a script by Jac Schaeffer (TiMER). The film will see Scarlett Johansson reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, and is expected to be a prequel much like Captain Marvel. While an official release date has not yet been announced, Black Widow is rumored to hit the big screen on May 1, 2020.
