Scarlett Johannsson had surprisingly difficult time getting her husband to run lines with her while she was working on Black Widow - he was afraid that she would spoil the movie!

Johannsson was on The Jess Cagle Show on Sirius XM when she discussed how she handled things with her husband, Saturday Night Live co-head writer (and co-anchor of the show's famous Weekend Update comedy news segment with Michael Che) Colin Jost, when the two were both living in London together while she was filming the upcoming Black Widow and Jost was working on the since-released Tom and Jerry movie, also shooting in London.

"When we were shooting this film in London, Colin was also there - he was shooting Tom and Jerry - which worked out great because we were together in the same city for a long time, which is rare. And if I was in the middle of a big action set piece or sequence or whatever, he couldn't hear - he was just not wanting to hear anything - anything - about it, anything about the details - of course he wants to know, 'How was your day?' but as soon as it was like, 'Can you read this scene with [me]?' he was like, 'Am I gonna get any spoilers?'"

She continued, "He wanted to know 'spoiler alert' before we read lines together. Can you believe that?" as she started to laugh while recalling the incident.

Johansson was unclear whether Jost was checking to see if he could avoid running the lines if there were spoilers, which would be one thing, or if he was just checking ahead of time to learn whether there was going to be a spoiler and then still do the lines with her anyways and learn the spoilers either way, but at least preparing himself to be spoiled when he saw the script pages.

Johansson also added, “I’m really happy with the work we’ve done over the last 10 years. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye, but if you like something, you need to release it!"

Jost and Johannson got marred in October 2020 after being engaged a year earlier. The two started dating back in 2017 after meeting on the set of Saturday Night Live.
