Marvel's Black Widow movie is finally on its way -- and has the photos to prove it.Several new images and behind the scenes stills from the film have been posted to Twitter, ahead of its scheduled release in May. In addition to offering a more detailed look at Black Widow's villain Taskmaster, the photos highlight the members of Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow's (Scarlett Johansson) Russian found-family. Director Cate Shortland (Berlin Syndrome) is also pictured working with the movie's actors on-set.RELATED: Tom Holland and Spider-Man 3 Cast Are Lobbying Marvel for a Black Widow Screening

Created by David Michelinie and George Pérez, Taskmaster first appeared in 1980's The Avengers #195. The character has served as a villain, hero and antihero over the course of their appearances in Marvel's comic books, fueled by their ability to copy the combat styles of anyone they study with photographic precision. Although it was originally Tony Masters under the Taskmaster mask in Marvel's comics, it's unclear who will adopt the moniker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, prompting much in the way of fan theories in the lead-up to Black Widow's release.

Joining Taskmaster and Natasha in these photos are Natasha's sister-figure and fellow Red Room trainee Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), along with the pair's parent-figures Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian (David Harbour) and Melina Vostokoff (Rachel Weisz). While Black Widow takes place prior to the events of the MCU's Phase 4, Pugh is already set to reprise her role as Yelena in Marvel's Hawkeye series. Beyond that, however, it's unknown what will happen to the rest of Natasha's found-family in the film, including whether one of them will turn out to be the face behind the Taskmaster mask.

Twice now, Black Widow's release date has been delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, leading to its current spot on May 7. Despite the fluidity of the situation, Marvel Studios President and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige expressed his continued hope Black Widow will get a traditional theatrical rollout. Meanwhile, others believe the movie may follow this month's Raya and the Last Dragon by debuting in theaters and on Disney Premier Access on the same day.

Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, O-T Fagbenle as Mason and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff. Directed by Cate Shortland, the movie arrives in theaters May 7.
