A new promo image featuring Black Widow with her two signature batons from the upcoming Marvel Studios film has surfaced online.The image shows Natasha in a fighting stance wielding her dual weapons as she prepares for battle, and her electric stinger bracelets are also in full display. Meanwhile, the black and gold suit harkens back to what the character wore in the comics when Captain America first recruited her in 1973's Avengers #111, by Steve Englehart and Don Heck.
The release of this image comes hot on the heels of Disney and Marvel Studios delaying the release of Black Widow indefinitely due to coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns. In early March, Disney was reportedly adamant about not pushing Black Widow's release date. However, the severity of the pandemic has escalated since then, and the Mouse House has similarly delayed the releases of Mulan and The New Mutants.
Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, O-T Fagbenle as Rick Mason and Rachel Weisz. The film currently has no release date.
