Taskmaster is a character of the Marvel Universe with some amazing history. He originally showed up in The Avengers comic series and has since then made even more appearances in different series. He has also appeared in various videogames such as Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3Spider-Man PS4, and Marvel's Avengers.

This gun for hire has a knack for copying the abilities and fighting styles of anyone that he can see, an ability that has assisted him in taking down some Marvel heroes no one would believe. This list will be looking at some of those unexpected takedowns in Taskmaster's portfolio.

10 HAWKEYE

Hawkeye is one of the more even matchups that Taskmaster has taken part in throughout his history of taking down anyone he's been paid to. Taskmaster's ability to copy just about anything his opponent can do has a great hand in this fight and led to him taking down the master marksman.

Now, this isn't too bad as Hawkeye has taken a fight off of Taskmaster as well but it wasn't a one-sided matchup for either of the combatants. Between the two, it's all about whoever gets the drop on the other first.

9 ANT-MAN

In one of Taskmaster's earliest appearances, he was sent on a mission from Dr. Pernell Solomon of the Solomon Institute for the Criminally Insane to attack and take down the Avengers.

During this attack, one of the Avengers that Taskmaster managed to take down was Ant-Man. Despite Ant's super suit and powers he lost and was captured by Taskmaster and had to await being saved by the Avengers. However, Ant-Man wasn't alone in having to wait to be saved by this new copycat adversary.

8 YELLOWJACKET

Ant-Man wasn't the only Avenger taken down by Taskmaster in his early appearance. His partner Yellowjacket also got caught in the crossfire and was defeated by Taskmaster.

Yellowjacket, along with his growing power, seems like it would be more of a match for Taskmaster but in the end, Taskmaster ended up on top while Yellowjacket joined Ant-Man in waiting to be saved after being captured.

7 WASP

The last of the heroes that were defeated by Taskmaster in his early showing via The Avengers comics was the significant other of Ant-Man, the Wasp.

Wasp was defeated alongside Yellowjacket and Ant-Man rather quickly by Taskmaster and ended up being another captured pawn for the Avengers to come rescue. The three size-morphing Avengers members were eventually saved from the clutches of Taskmaster by the robot Jocasta.

6 MILES MORALES

The new Ultimate version of Spider-Man, Miles Morales took a humiliating defeat from the hands of Taskmaster in his original comics universe. This universe's Taskmaster is just like the version from the original universe, save his looks.

Here Taskmaster took on the new Spider-Man, Bombshell, and Spider-Woman and easily defeated all three of them. Lucky for them, Cloak and Dagger arrived and gave Tasky too many numbers to worry about.

5 IRON MAN

Some would think due to the technology of Tony Stark that Taskmaster would stand no chance. Well, Taskmaster has more than his ability to copy any fighting style up his sleeve and has shown countless times that he is ready to take on any hero no matter their ability.

During this battle, Taskmaster was equipped with S.H.I.E.L.D technology and made a mockery of Tony Stark. Many may think that this is a cheat in defeating a hero of the Marvel universe but since when have villains decided to play by the rules?

4 REED RICHARDS

Taskmaster actually managed to beat the world-renown genius and leader of the Fantastic Four, Reed "Mr. Fantastic" Richards. However, this victory was actually a huge mistake, as Taskmaster's gun was actually meant to fire at another hero entirely.

That hero was Susan Storm, but Reed took the bullet for his wife, an act that caused Sue to snap and quickly decimate Taskmaster with a single force hit that slammed him into the ground.

3 STEVE RODGERS

The original Captain America himself was taken down by Taskmaster once as well. In fact, in the long line of battles between the two hand-to-hand professionals usually end up with somewhat of a draw or early withdrawal from one of them.

This time around the victory went to Taskmaster. This battle happened during the Siege of Asgard and just so happened to be won by Taskmaster against more than just the boy in red, white, and blue.

2 BUCKY BARNES

Yes, during the Siege of Asgard Steve Rodgers was actually assisted by a second Captain America. That second Cap was actually Steve's best friend, Bucky Barnes in his new alias.

However, despite being pitted against two men in stars and stripes, Taskmaster still took home the victory. This is one battle that truly confirmed just how much of a threat Tasky is and always will be.

1 VENOM

Taskmaster is a villain that has had multiple clashes with the web-slinger, Spider-Man. Along with Spidey, Taskmaster has been head-to-head with other characters from his series as well, one being Venom.

Taskmaster did his research and immediately took to one of the symbiote's weaknesses. The flame sword and a copied dosage of Spider-Man's combat style made quick work of Venom.
