It appears that moviegoers in the United Kingdom are in store for a post-social distancing gift, as Black Widow is set to come out a week earlier than in the U.S.
Disney confirmed that the long-awaited Black Widow solo film is set to come out on Oct 28, according to Digital Spy. This will put it ahead of the American Nov 6 release date, which was pushed back from May due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This date was originally meant for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s second Phase 4 entry, The Eternals, which has been moved to 2021.
Black Widow takes place sometime after the events of Captain America: Civil War and sees Natasha Romanoff confront a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her training in the Red Room. This will see her reunite with multiple individuals from her past, including Pugh’s Yelena and Alexei Shostakov, the Russian counterpart to Captain America, Red Guardian. She’ll also face off against Marvel antagonist Taskmaster, a mercenary with the ability to replicate the combat techniques of anyone he observes.
Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, William Hurt, O.T. Fagbenle and Ray Winstone. Robert Downey Jr. is also expected to appear as Tony Stark.
