Disney doesn't have any plans to release Marvel Studios' Black Widow on its streaming service -- yet.

During the company's third-quarter earnings call, The Walt Disney Company Chief Executive Officer Bob Chapek addressed the possibility of Black Widow premiering on Disney+'s upcoming VOD option. When a shareholder asked if Black Widow could follow Mulan with a Disney+ debut, Chapek explained that he considers Mulan a "one-off," but that the company will keep an eye on how the remake performs.

"We're very pleased to be able to bring Mulan to our consumer base that's been waiting for it for a long, long time, as we've had to unfortunately move our theatrical date several times," Chapek said. "We're fortunate that we have the opportunity to bring it to our own direct-to-consumer platform so consumers can enjoy it, but we're looking at Mulan as a one-off, as opposed to trying to say that there's some new business windowing model that we're looking at."

"So Mulan is a one-off," he continued. "That said, we find it very interesting to be able to take a new offering -- our premiere access offering -- to consumers at that $29.99 price and learn from it and see what happens, not only in terms of the uptake of the number of subscribers that we get on the platform, but the actual number of transactions on the Disney+ platform that we get on that PVOD offering."

In the same call, Chapek announced Mulan will be available to rent on Disney+ for $29.99 in the US, and for a different price in other countries, starting Sept. 4. Where Disney+ is not available, those countries will see Mulan simultaneously if their theaters are open. The $29.99 price is for Disney+'s "Premium Tier," titled Star, which will allow subscribers to rent movies on the streaming service. While he didn't reveal Disney's plans for Black Widow, he also didn't rule out a Disney+ premiere sometime down the line.

Black Widow was originally slated to release on May 1. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the film was delayed alongside other Disney tent poles like Mulan, Soul and Jungle Cruise. Black Widow is now due to arrive in theaters in Nov., should conditions improve and theaters reopen.

Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, O-T Fagbenle as Rick Mason and Rachel Weisz. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 6.
