A new poster from D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, provides a look at the cast of Black Widow and shows general audiences David Harbour's Red Guardian/Alexei Shostakov for the first time.Concept artist Andy Park revealed his D23 poster on Twitter. The image teases the looks of various characters in the film. Although this is the first time general audiences have seen the character, Red Guardian did appear in Comic-Con International in San Diego exclusive footage. Park wrote, "BLACK WIDOW!!! Official D23 poster I had the honor of painting. Sheâs very near & dear to me since itâs the gazillionth time Iâve concept designed/painted her. What a cast & crew."
Details about the upcoming Black Widow film are being kept relatively under wraps, though Taskmaster is said to be the movie's villain. The film is Romanoff's first solo movie in the MCU since she made her debut in 2010's Iron Man 2. As the character died in Avengers: Endgame, the Black Widow film is assumed to be a prequel of some sort. Photos from the set indicate the movie will take place between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, though that's not confirmed at this time.
Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle and Rachel Weisz. The film arrives in theaters on May 1, 2020.
